It has become both the professional and commercial fisherman’s choice. It’s known as the Bass Lure world wide. Martin Beer has been working on sales with the handling most of the office work and exports since 1989. Dave was the United Kingdom 1976 Westward Television Champion Angler winning fishing competitions against over 3500 shore anglers and then winning the finals in Sweden with ABU featuring boat, shore, river and lake fishing in which he won all categories! Eddystone Eels have been responsible for catching Ten World Records since 1973 including the UK Bass, Coalfish, Pollack, Cod, and Whiting records. Plus the Norwegian Haddock record. Many commercial fishermen have caught record breaking Bass on Eddystone Eels, it's the commercial fisherman’s favourite Bass lure. In 1980 the Black No3 Eddystone Eels 190mm were responsible for catching many Black Fin and Yellow Fin Tuna off the coasts of USA and soon became known as “The Hot Tuna Lure”, and still today Eddystone Eels are regarded by many boat skippers and fishermen as one of the main “banker” tuna lures. To add to that success it was the Eddystone Eel lure that was responsible for a shore caught Record American Stripped Bass of 62lb during beach night fishing at Martha`s Vineyard, Massachusetts, USA. The lure used was size No 5 Eddystone Eel 115mm and colour black, proving that these lures work at night too - such is the vibration created by the amazing tail action. Dave was fishing alongside that angler on that night which was a truly memorable occasion. Many other species of fish have fallen to the Eddystone Eel all around the world from boat to shore both in fresh and salt water, which goes to show the beauty of the Eddystone Lures is their versatility. They will catch fish pretty much anywhere you put them. Dave has designed all EDDYSTONE products moulds and tooling since 1973.
