Baroque Academy
July 5-12, 2015
An auditioned program for the pre-professional and professional
musician focusing on high-level interpretation of Baroque music. It is
open to recorder players as well as violin, cello, viol, flute, oboe,
bassoon, harpsichord, and voice. Students work with well-known Baroque performers from the US and Europe.
The bonds forged among students in this program can form the basis for lasting musical collaborations in future
professional life. Directed by Saskia Coolen.
Recorder Boot Camp
July 5-12, 2015
An auditioned program for serious and accomplished adult players who wish
to make significant technical progress during the week. Limited to 8 students,
participants work intensively with our stellar faculty to hone skills and gain
musical expertise. Master class, ensemble playing, focus on technique.
Directed by Heloise Degrugillier, with Frances Blaker, Gwyn Roberts, and
Reine-Marie Verhagen and others.
Recorder Seminar
July 12-19, 2015
An auditioned program aimed at high-school and college-aged players who want to work in a group of like-minded
peers to improve their playing, learn new skills and generally have a lot of fun making music. This program is also a
springboard for the Virtuoso Recorder program. Directed by Gwyn Roberts, with Saskia Coolen, Nina Stern, and
Reine-Marie Verhagen and others.
Virtuoso Recorder
July 12-19, 2015
An auditioned program for recorder players at the conservatory level,
as well as for those just starting a career. Small classes give close
contact between student and faculty and provide the opportunity for
rapid and intensive learning. This is the ideal program for recorder
players on their way to a career in music. Directed by Gwyn Roberts,
with Saskia Coolen, Nina Stern, Reine-Marie Verhagen and others.
