to the textiles industry where it is the most common way of printing areas of colour onto fabrics. Our range

43TPC White
If you need a more professional print finish then opt for our range of
Aluminium Screens. These frames are more robust and ideal for heavy
use. Screens stay tight for longer ensuring reproducible results. Available
in 4 sizes they are pre-meshed in 3 grades of yellow mesh for a higher
quality and finer detail of print than our Quality Wooden Screens. Yellow
mesh is ideal for photo stencil work because it absorbs more UV light
resulting in increased exposure of the stencil and stronger, better defined
printed images. If you need sharp definition in your prints then use frames
with yellow mesh at the highest TPC you can afford to buy. Please note:
yellow mesh needs to be exposed for approx. 25% longer than
white mesh but remember, the higher the mesh count the lower the

to be used and the material which is to be printed on. The higher the
mesh count, the finer the holes in the screen. Yellow mesh reflects less

Diazo Photo Screen Emulsion Step-by-Step
You will need:
• A screen prepared with Diazo Photo Screen Emulsion
• A film stencil
• A light source to allow you to transfer the opaque images on
your positive to the light sensitive screen
1) Create an original image (stencil) on an acetate film or
polyester image sheet.
You can do this using a black marker or by transferring images
and text via a photocopier. The solid areas of your design are
those that will print.
2) Coat a screen with an Emulsion/Sensitizer mix and leave
to dry in the dark.
3) Wash the screen.
When exposed to light the Diazo
Photo Screen Emulsion hardens.
Any areas which are not exposed to
light (because they are covered by
the design on the film stencil) will remain soft and are washed
away.
4) You will be left with a negative stencil image on the mesh
and can screen print as normal.

The best way to use this flock is to screen print a design on some fabric
using some Fabric Medium and sprinkle on a coating of the Fun Flock.
Cover the flock with a piece of paper and rub over the paper to help the
flock embed in to the medium. Gently tip from the fabric onto a spare
piece of paper and tip the excess back into your pot to use again. Items

manoeuvrability of the cutting blade.

Cut and Flocked Lino. Protect the base plate with newsprint, ink up the
design and place face up on the base plate. Lay down the paper or fabric
you want to print onto and then add another protective layer of newsprint.

Create effective prints with a MDF block and string. Apply a thick coat of
PVA to one side of the block and then create your pattern using string.
Remember not to overlap string pieces because you need your design
to be all at one height. Leave the block to dry overnight then it is ready to

sheets are pre-treated with a non-toxic chemical which helps fix the ink. The
paper backing makes feeding through the printer much easier. Simply print

to transfer computer generated images onto

5,760dpi so is especially useful for highresolution photographs. You can print on all
fabrics made from cotton or cotton blend as

Quilter's Freezer Paper
Reynolds Freezer Paper
If you want to print onto your own
material you can use Quilter's
Freezer Paper to act as a carrier
sheet stabilising the fabric as it
goes through the printer. You can
also use it for appliqué when
working with fine fabrics where the
wefts and warps can move about
making cutting out shapes difficult.
Just cut your fabric sheet to size
and iron the freezer paper onto the
reverse. Trim off the excess fabric
and your temporarily stiffened
sheet is ready to use. Just peel
away the freezer paper once work
is complete.
The sheets are reusable making them very economical. Each sheet
measures 216 x 280mm (8.5 x 11”).
