Proffitts - A Community Interest Company
Proffitts - Investing in Communities (CIC) was established in 2008 as a Community Interest Company - a
not for profit organisation, operating throughout the North West. Its main aim is to support and encourage
communities, groups and individuals to a level of self support through a common social and environmental
focus. This ethos is built on a sound foundation of expertise from a team that has successfully delivered a
variety of projects for over 12 years.
Services Provided
Proffitts offer a range of services in full, or in part, depending in the clients needs, budget and resources. Our
work is focussed on meeting the needs of the community, whether it be centred around parks or playgrounds;
access and rights of way; community centres and buildings; housing estates; youth work; community
engagement and activities, or training.
Current Offer for Community Groups
Proffitts have received grant funding from Lancashire County Council which will enable us to work with
community groups throughout Lancashire until the summer of 2016. The aim of the grant is to enable groups
to move forward with their project, whether it be to provide a design, assist with consultation and events;
fundraising for a project; help obtain planning consent or negotiate with partners.
We are contacting Councillors, Local Authority Officers and Housing Association Officers in Lancashire
County Council’s priority wards to see if they are aware of any community groups who could benefit from this
offer.

their project and see if we are able to help. Please forward to any groups you know who may benefit from this
offer.
