www.kakesparees.gr Inspired by meaningful works of art and hoping to get to know each other better, a large crowd sets the creative tone, filling our nights with interesting invitations during the first two months of 2011. Come join us from January 26th until February 26th at Mihael Cacoyannis Foundation, 206 Pireos Street, Athens, Greece. Our parents my always warn us to “be aware of the bad crowd”, but we do believe that keeping interesting company is way better than doing what‟s expected. Because a so-called Bad Crowd challenges us to follow the road less travelled, intrigues us and broadens our horizons to new people and new experiences. THE INSPIRATION: And this is exactly what “Kakes Parees” plan to be: a melting pot of arts, a meeting point for inspired artists, a coming-together of creators and their friends, old and new, on the common grounds of exchanging pictures, sounds and aspirations. Distinguished directors, actors and producers of seven films from four continents present their works and get ready to converse with actors, directors, visual artists, choreographers, musicians and dancers from Greece and around the world. THE OCCASION: In the duration of a month, more than 50 artists will present their creations and meet their audience. The idea of comradeship and interaction between arts becomes the starting point of communication between artists. Film directors from all over the world hang out with innovative theatre people who befriend the most contemporary representatives of the Greek music scene who inspire „heavenly‟ dancers and visual artists who set up the background of the whole encounter. THE IDEA: And between them all, the audience is present and willing to meet the artists and their works, listen to them talk about their inspiration, watch, learn and dream. The blossoming of new friendships, the formation of new creative groups full of potential and well meant trouble for audience and creators alike. Artists inspired by each other‟s works, arts cooperating , followed by an even watching, conversing and participating audience. This kind of assembly could only lead to further creation. THE EXPECTATION: To new works of art, deviant and groupinspired. Just the kind we like... 30 Film Screenings of 7 feature films accompanied by 7 short films Theatre performance (4 shows) Concerts (2 sets of artists, 2 shows each) Dance performance (3 shows) Art Exhibition (painting, sculpture, photography, installations) THE ACTIONS: 8 Masterclasses THE FEATURE FILMS “Pus” (“Haze”) by Tayfun Pirselimoglu Resat scrapes together a living wholesaling bootleg DVDs for a crime syndicate on the outskirts of Istanbul, and he shares a shabby flat with his mother.
