CGC Grade 6.0 Fine. Off-White
pages.
This is the first appearance of
Turok in his own comic book. His
first two earlier appearances had
been in the Dell Four Color series.

Aside from this #3 issue which
appears to have had a warehouse find, most of the early Turok comics are not easy
to find above the grade of 4.0 Very Good and only a handful in any grade have been
graded by CGC.
Note about CGC's grading on this book: These 5 early Turok comic books that I'm
currently offering on ebay are the first books I've had CGC graded. CGC is good
for the comic collecting hobby, and I'm glad they use very tight grading but I have
to say I think they undergraded all 5 of my books. I have been collecting comics
since 1966 and collecting only high grade copies since the early 1980s so I like to
think my opinion carries some weight. I would grade this book at least a half-grade
higher to Overstreet 6.5 Fine+. The small chip out of the bottom right hand corner
of the cover does keep it out of 7.0 Fine/Very Fine.
*This group of 5 Turok Son Of Stone comics came from the estate of a Dell comic
book collector that had about 800 comics in it. I purchased it at the famous
Hillsville, Virginia Memorial Day antique fair a few years ago. Most of the comics
were the usual Dell westerns or funny animal types but there was also this little
batch of nice condition Turoks.The original owner of this collection took excellent
care of his comics with most of them having only light handling wear that comes
from having been read only once. Most of them had off-white to white pages. I've
long since sold almost all this collection and these last remaining 5 Turoks are the
only ones I sent in for grading by CGC.
