Hello Hill Herald Readers,
Most students returned to school this year with readiness, anticipation, and a determination to
make this year a good year. Many of us even had a New Year’s Resolution or two in mind. After
almost two months in school, let’s pause to evaluate where we are. Are we still enthusiastic
about this year? If not, how do we get our enthusiasm back? Are we on track with our New
Year’s Resolutions? Have we done specific things to help achieve our goals?
While some believe that good grades are a big mystery, most of us realize that they are the result
of having a plan and committing to it…and studying a little each and every day. In less than
three weeks, our first quarter will come to an end and we will see report cards soon after that.
Make the most of these next weeks…and work that plan!
Together, let’s make this a great school year, one filled with knowledge, challenges, and
enjoyment. Let us also remember to treat those around us the way we want to be treated, always
trying to be a better person each day.

Today, I will show you how to enable file extensions which are at the end of all file names to tell
you what kind of file that is. It is seen as a dot followed by a string of characters such as .png
which tells you that is a picture file. Showing the file extension, on all of your files available on
your computer, can be useful for detecting certain threats on your computer. You can download a
text file and get an exe (Executable file,it runs when you double click it) in return, this makes the
file suspicious. It is relatively simple to enable file extensions on both Windows and Mac OS X.
