Wooden Planks 3 pieces There are brackets at various points in the boats so that the planks can be mounted depending on the intended use; i.e. as a bridge, as steps, as seats (oarlocks are positioned accordingly). Railing On the port and starboard side of the bow there are removable railings made of aluminium tubing with an outer diameter of 40 mm \ 15,75 line and a length of about 1.20 m\ 3,94 ft There are mounting brackets for lifebuoys on the stanchions (optional). The planks can be placed on the stanchions creating a set of stairs (added safety for older people). a solid 3.5m \ 11,48 ft bench lengthwise port and starboard. The bench has a 1.5 opening on one side, giving access to a storage area with overboard drainage. Benches across none lengthwise Wheels For use on flat or non-flooded areas. The wheels with synthetic rims and plain bearings are mounted on stainless steel axles and are easy to replace. Outboard Mounting bracket on stern Material and Construction Characteristics Bottom, platform, side parts and core are made of 2.5 mm \ 0,98 line saltwater resistant aluminium. The upper edges (gunwale) are finished with 40mm \ 15,75 line round tubing. The barge-like construction of the hull ensures safety on frozen surfaces that could crack. Aluminium boats easily glide over sharp edges. The low railings make it easy to bring the victims on board. The planks and wheels can be removed effortlessly and stored when the boat is not being used over longer periods of time. Comparison between fire brigade boats and UNIBOAT Inflatable boats used by the fire brigade These are planing boats • Powered by 25 – 40 HP Speed of approx. 30-50 km/h \ 18,64 - 31,07 mph For use on natural waterways • e.g. on a river Speed is of primary importance • e.g. reaching sinking or burning ships The engine is used to produce high speed Flow velocity The flow velocity of rivers is often underestimated. Uniboote These are row boats (displacement boats) • Powered by 4 – 8 HP Speed of approx. 8 km/h \ 4,97 mph For use in flooded areas • e.g. flooded streets Stay clear of wakes • Should be operated at reduced speed The engine replaces the rower Boat 1 A 4 HP outboard is more efficient than a rower • Boat 1 can be powered by a smaller outboard. Depending on the load the boat can reach 8 km/h \ 4,97 mph A 4 HP outboard can do a complete 360° turn • The boat is extremely manoeuvrable Due to its light weight (13 kg \ 28,66 lb) the outboard is easy to handle • E.g. tilting the outboard when navigating shallow areas The outboard is cost effective • Repairs are inexpensive Boat 2 A 5 HP outboard would be suitable • It would replace 2 rowers A 4 HP outboard would suffice • For use in flooded areas with little current Hauptstraße 77, 53424 Remagen-Oberwinter Tel.: 0049- (0)2228/8080 Fax: 0049 -(0)2228/7777 E-Mail: [email protected] Internet: www.hochwasserboot.de J.w.schaefer METALLVERARBEITUNG Please note: Many rescue boats are overpowered. The UNIBOAT (Boat Model 1) only needs a light outboard. Ideal for continuous use in flooded areas is 4 HP gas outboard •This makes the UNIBOAT as fast as a rowboat (ca. 8,5 km/h = 5,28 mph) •You can reach distant areas within minutes. (more information can be found at www.yamaha-motor.com e.g.) For short missions on inland waters there is the Torqeedo 1000 Watt electric motor •It is as fast as the gas engine •Super light ( with Accu 13,4 kg \ 29,54 lb ) •Mounts quickly •Ready to use thanks to a long-lasting battery (more information can be found at www.torqeedo.com) Equipped in this manner the UNIBOAT is: •No need for a licence •Easy to handle by one person •Economical, you save on manpower and acquisition costs Should you require further information, please call Tel.: 0049 22 28 - 80 80 We will be happy to personally advise you.
