Hokies in the Classroom!
We all know how great our Hokies
are on the field and the court, but
did you know they succeed in the
classroom?
Virginia Tech has a total of 512
student athletes competing in
16 sports. Of those 512 student
athletes, over half earned a 3.0
grade point average for the Fall
2013 semester. Not to mention,
130 of those athletes made the
Dean’s List, a special recognition
from Virginia Tech, that semester.
Pretty amazing, right?

It gets even more impressive! Tech
also had 17 student athletes with a
perfect 4.0 this past Fall. That’s a
lot of “Straight A’s”!
It’s not just individual athletes doing well in school. Our teams, as a whole, are high
acheivers, too! There are 12 Hokie teams that maintain a 3.0 or greater cumulative GPA
year round. Leading the way this past Fall were the members of the Women’s Soccer
team. Not only did the Women’s Soccer team make an appearance in the College Cup
this season but they also maintained the highest team GPA average this Fall at 3.52. That’s
winning on the field and off!
So now you know the Hokies are not only champions on the field but also in the classroom!
We can’t wait to see you this Spring helping cheer on the Hokies to a victory!
