Metropia Experience Hits Chicago
Thursday, June 7 and Friday, June 8, 2012
CHICAGO, IL – Metropia, an exclusive event experience that merges regional
artists and musicians in one exciting space, will make its debut in Chicago at
the Atrium Events space (4325 N. Ravenswood) on Thursday, June 7- Friday,
June 8, 2012.
Event attendees, aka Metropians, will enjoy new sounds and visuallystimulating art installations that are unique to Chicago. Metropia Chicago will
not only encompass art, music, and technology, but will also be cause driven.
Social and charitable causes play a vital role in Metropia, with a sizable
portion of the event’s proceeds benefiting the Chicago-based anti-bullying
organization, The Bully Squad and WLUW-FM 88.7 - Chicago Sound Alliance,
which broadcasts from the campus of Loyola University Chicago.
“The Metropia Experience is all about tapping into a city’s performing talent
and providing a live platform for musicians and artists to showcase their
work,” said Omar Barragan, creator of The Metropia Experience and owner of
BAO, Multicultural Event Orchestration. “The Metropia Experience is organic
and embraces the individual expression, not only of the talent being
showcased, but also the Metropians that attend.”
Metropia Chicago will feature a fantastic line-up of Chicago and regional
musicians in all genres of music including, Indie Pop, Rock, Electro, Hip Hop,
Dubstep and Garage Rock. Chicago bands include ShutEye, Fathom Blue,
Ramsen, Jaded!, Kelsey Montanez Band, Shadow The Machine Angel, Take
The Day, Passport Louis, The Bears of Blue River, Kirby Kaiser, Tim Million,
Tiny Fireflies, Veilside, Famous Like You, Cold Blue Kid, Santah, Marina City,

Tickets to Metropia Chicago are currently available. Two day admission
passes are $110 and one day passes are $65. The event will run Thursday,
June 7 from 2 p.m.-10 p.m. and Friday, June 8 from 2 p.m. – 12 a.m.
Artists who work in sculpture, graffiti, prints, mixed media and other types of
