Main features
Our intention is to focus on the core themes of jobs, training & skills and enterprise; and to deliver practical and interactive
features within the show to help visitors and exhibitors engage with each other in a number of ways.
• Thames Gateway:
Jobs and future opportunities
The London 2012 Games are just
over 2 years away. By 2011, Stratford
City, Greenwich Peninsula and other
developments will start to deliver so much
for the region. Other developments such as
the London Gateway port in Essex will also
create jobs.
Companies that are part of these and other
job-creation opportunities are encouraged
to join us and recruit local talent. Those
with future vacancies are invited to come
and tell our visitors about them. This will
help visitors understand what they need to
do to give themselves a sporting chance of
securing one of those jobs in the future.
• Thames Gateway Training & Skills
Colleges, universities and all other training
providers are encouraged to join us and
make sure that visitors have access to
information about your courses; courses
that might be able to help prepare them
to take one of the many jobs that are
currently available or that will soon be
coming on stream.
• Thames Gateway Enterprise Zone
People seek out self-employment
opportunities for a number of different
reasons. Be it for full or part-time
opportunities, the one thing they need
is expert advice and the right type of
business opportunities.
It’s an exciting part of the show that
will mix excellent business start-up
opportunities with leading business support
organisations, enterprise agencies and
regulatory bodies, to ensure that visitors are
able to access the best opportunities and
advice from the right people.
• Talk Gateway: Live interviews and Q&A
A dynamic and interactive feature where
industry professionals and spokespeople are
interviewed followed by a Q&A session with
the audience.
• Seminars
Running throughout both days, exhibitors
are invited to host a seminar for free.
• Wall of opportunity
Literally thousands of live opportunities
posted on the wall via exhibitors from across
the show. Visitors use the cards to find the
type of job or opportunity they are looking
for and the location of the exhibitor they
need to speak to.
18,000 people want to meet you. What are you going to do about it?
18 - 19 April 2010, ExCeL London
The Thames Gateway Enterprise, Training & Jobs Fair is the UK’s largest
and best attended recruitment event…by far.
Why exhibit?
Efficiency: you have the potential to sign up hundreds of people in just 2 days, which
for some organisations might take 3-6 months to achieve. The record, achieved in
2007, was 1800 visitor details collected from a single stand.
Quality and diversity of visitors: we work with a number of partners including
colleges, universities, media and other agencies to attract a diverse range of people
to the event. We have the marketing covered, which means that you can focus what
you do best.
Costs: This event is a cost-effective and could potentially pay for itself many times
over. Example:
• Recruiting 1 or 2 people at the show means money saved on agency or
advertising fees. If you’re looking to recruit more than 1 or 2, the savings increase
proportionately.
• For a training provider, staff time spent in organising and then marketing open
days are negated. An excellent way to manage limited resources.
• For those offering self-employment opportunities, revenue generated from
new people recruited could easily meet any initial outlay.
Brand awareness: Each exhibitor has access to free PR support as part of the
exhibitor package.
The Thames Gateway has 1.6 million residents and currently supports some 500,000 jobs. Thames Gateway regeneration is set to generate a further 180,000 new jobs.
Who exhibits?
Marketing & promotion
Each year we see in excess of
120 exhibitors across the whole
show, covering a range of sectors
including:
The marketing campaign has
delivered over an average of
18,000 visitors, per event, for the
last four years.
Advice & Guidance • Banking •
Business Support • Charity and
voluntary (Third Sector) • Construction
• Engineering • Food & drink •
Hospitality & Catering • Local
Government • Marketing • Media
• Retail • Trade bodies • Training
agencies and providers • Transport •
Universities and Colleges
We work closely with our media
partners, sponsors and exhibitors to
maximise exposure.
• The print media partner for the event
is Archant London, who have a weekly
London circulation of 1.3 million.
• Over 300,000 posters and flyers
are distributed via our network of
supporters, sponsors and exhibitors.
• Direct marketing activities reach over
1 million people during the lead up to
the event.
• PR reach, in terms of overall circulation,
is in excess of 6 million people.
Campaign & Sponsorship
opportunities
The Thames Gateway Enterprise, Training
& Job Fair offers various sponsorship
opportunities to further increase the profile
of your organisation.
With direct marketing activities reaching
over 1 million people, many within the
18-30 age-range, and the event itself
receiving over 18,000 visitors, involvement
on a sponsorship level can offer significant
additional value-for-money exposure for a
sponsoring organisation.
