Sat 12 Sept 2009 Join in our celebration of the river Thames by taking part in our fabulous Thames Festival River Pageant On Saturday 12th September Pageant Mustering & Route This is an invitation to you and / or your boat club to join in the Thames Festival River Pageant. The Pageant aims to promote the Thames as an arena for all, joining together river users of all kinds in a programme-packed river display. The Pageant will run from The Queen Elizabeth II Pier (by the 02 Dome) to Pimlico and back and will include users of the river from working tugs and steam tugs to private yachts, fireboats, and pleasure boats. Bring your boat and help show the 850,000 Londoners at the Thames Festival how the river is used! Make sure to fly your bunting and show your flags! −− The Pageant parade will muster at 13.00 and start at 13.30 from The Queen Elizabeth II Pier. −− The parade will proceed up-river, sailing through the Festival site, between Tower Bridge and Westminster Bridge, where a commentary will explain the vessels and their organizations as they pass. −− The parade will turn above Westminster Boating Base and be joined by vessels from the upper Thames; it will then proceed down-river passing again through the Festival and finishing at Hermitage moorings at 15.30. No entry fee is required and once your order form has been received a full break-down of events including mustering and timing details will be sent to you. Come and join us at St Katharine Docks for a celebratory light meal after the Pageant. A great chance to meet everybody involved.
