If you’re not REBUYING
You’re not RECYCLING
Recycling is a THREE-STEP
process.
1.
2.
3.
Collect your recyclables and take them to the nearest collection facility or put them out for curbside collection. Processors clean and prepare the recycled material for use by manufacturers.
Manufacturers make new products from the collected materials.
Consumers purchase recycled content products and, if suitable, put them back into recycling collection programs
Don’t let a good thing go to waste
CLOSE THE LOOP! BUY RECYCLED.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Instead of throwing away items we no longer need, we can make
sure they find their way to the next stage in their life cycle. At
home, at school, at the office, or anywhere, we can REDUCE the
amount of waste we produce; REUSE an item or find someone who
can use it; or RECYCLE products, so that our valuable natural resources are used again and again.
REUSE—Donate Used Items
Donations of clothing, furniture, and varying
household items are accepted at several local
facilities. Household items could include, but are not limited to,
books, magazines, tools, toys, sports equipment, computers, copiers, printers, typewriters, records, cassettes, CD’s, VHS tapes, or
DVDs. Food donations are even accepted at some locations. Check
out your local listings for resale and donation shops located around
town, make sure to call ahead to see if they accept what you would
like to donate!
City of College Station
Bulk Item Collection
College Station provides weekly
bulky item pick up. Bulky items
include items too large to fit in your garbage cart such as kitchen
appliances, furniture, and flattened cardboard. ALL REFRIGERATORS, FREEZERS, & AIR CONDITIONERS MUST HAVE FREON EXTRACTED BY LICENSED HVAC PROFESSIONAL PRIOR TO PICKUP.
Place bulky items within 3 ft of the curb in a location easily accessible to the collection vehicle and separated from brush piles or recycling bags.
Bag & Tie
TRASH won’t Fly
Automated Garbage Collection is provided once a week for College
Station Residential Homes. Each residence is provided an automated garbage cart that should be rolled to the edge of the curb by
8 a.m. on their scheduled day. All garbage placed in the cart MUST
BE BAGGED. College Station City Ordinance requires carts to be
removed from the curb within 12 hours of collection.
Leave it Lawn!
College Station supports the Don’t Bag It! Lawn care
program by encouraging citizens to leave grass clippings on the lawn.
