the ideal location for an exciting, rewarding
day camp experience.

AGE APPROPRIATE PROGRAMS
Your child will gain an appreciation for the outdoors at
Camp Weber. Campers will be placed into units according to age, each with progressive programming. Within
each unit, smaller groups are made up of 10-12 boys
and girls.
FAMILY NIGHTS
Parents come join the fun! Optional family nights will
be offered each session: July 2, July 16, July 30 and
August 13, 2015.

POLAR BEARS (AGES 6-7):
The youngest unit is a joyful beginning to day camp for
younger children. Each day of camp is filled with the
excitement that comes from trying new things! Daily
schedules provide a balance between active and quiet
play and group and individual activities.
KODIAK BEARS (AGES 8-9):

Our more experienced campers will enjoy new challenges and new excitement. Emphasis in this unit is on
increased self-confidence, encouraging others, responsibility, and cooperation within the group team.
GRIZZLY BEARS (AGES 10-12):
This unit features a specially designed program for our
oldest. The camp day is filled with specialized activities that are designed to be progressive and challenging, as well as fun and entertaining to the Grizzly
Bears.
OVERNIGHTS
Camp overnight experiences will be offered twice this
summer on Fridays, July 17 and July 31. Overnights
are Friday evening into Saturday morning, campers will
be provided breakfast. Campers must be picked up at
camp Weber by 11:00 am on Saturday. $20 fee/camper per overnight applies. Camper must be registered in
sessions 2 or 3 to participate in overnight experience.
Overnights are limited to the two older units, the
Kodiak and Grizzly Bears.

AGES 6-12 YEARS
Camp Fun City USA will utilize the Springfield
Family Center at 275 Chestnut Street including the classrooms, Buxton studio, gymnasium,
outdoor play spaces, pool and local parks. Weekly field trips and specialty choices will allow the
campers to visit local water parks, beaches, local
attractions and more.

WOLF CUBS (AGES 6-7):
The youngest unit is a joyful beginning to day

TIMBER WOLVES (AGES 8-9):
Our more experienced campers will enjoy new challenges and new excitement. Emphasis in this unit is
on increased self-confidence, encouraging others,
responsibility, and cooperation within the group
team.
GREY WOLVES (AGES 10-12):
This unit features a specially designed program for
our oldest .The camp day is filled with specialized
activities that are designed to be progressive and
challenging, as well as fun and entertaining to the
Grey Wolves.
Each session at Camp Fun City USA offers a different specialty option (or mini-camp) in the morning
and a traditional camp experience in the afternoon. Campers are grouped according to age and
activity choices. Campers remain with their counselors throughout the day.

MINI CAMP - SPECIALTY OPTIONS
CAMP FUN CITY USA
HARRY POTTER WIZARDS & WIZARDRY!: Now, live the magical world of Harry Potter for an entire
session at Camp Fun City USA! From the moment you arrive, you will cease to be a Muggle, and will enter the
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as a student. Make your own wands, capes, marauders map and
spellbooks! Do you have what it takes to learn Potions? Are you ready for daily Quiddich practice? Do you
know your spellbook forwards and back?
WET & WILD: Do you love the water? Wet & wild will offer a daily opportunity to get wet! Visit area water
slides, water parks, beaches and swim in the pool. Learn the basics of swimming and water safety all while
keeping it cool in the summer!
GLEE: Turn up that spotlight!! Flash mobs, group dance routines, sing along! Learn, dance and sing to
all your favorite movie and television music like Disney’s FROZEN, GLee and more! Put on performances to
“wow” your families and friends. Just like you see on TV!
SCI-MADNESS : This camp promises to be explosive, electrifying and fun! Get excited to have your camper in Mad Science Camp! Create crazy experiments like Gak, Goop and Slime and some edible fun along the
way! Trips to the science museum and other out of this world places will make your inner MAD scientist
crazy with excitement.
PC/VIDEO GAMES: Are you a gamer? Do you love technology? If so, then have we got a camp for you. In
PC/Video games you’ll be able to play some of the latest video games, consoles and tablets right at camp.
Learn how PC’s work and what makes them tick. Build your own PC and watch it hum! With visits to area
arcades and a visit from the arcade bus. You can get your technology fill all summer long!
IMAGINARIUM & INVENTORS WORKSHOP: Childhood curiosity, experimentation, and imagination
can develop one’s play instinct. Does your camper like to tinker and build? Then this is the specialty camp
for you! From Legos to robotics kits to robot drones. Campers will be challenged to create, build and let their
imaginations soar! Campers will develop problem solving skills as well as teambuilding and physics in this
program. With field trips to local adventure and ropes course as well as some of the top science museums
campers will learn how to think critically and develop their minds and harness their inner inventor.
DINOSAURS & OUTER SPACE: Create build and explore the prehistoric world of dinosaurs to the
future world of Outer space, and everything in between. Campers will focus primarily on field trips to museums around New England! See real dinosaur tracks and visit planetariums and discover the wonders of outer
space. Campers will build design and create as well as explore all the wonders of Dinosaurs and Outer space!
Love spaceships? You can build your own! How about digging up dinosaur eggs or finding fossils? You will!
AGES 6-12 YEARS
Camp Fun City EAST is an Athletic and Nutrition
based Sports Camp experience for boys and girls
entering grades 1-7 (ages 6 – 12 years) Sports
camp offers youth specialized sports training in
a day camp setting and are designed to teach
sports skills, fair play, teamwork and sportsmanship while reinforcing the values of caring,
honesty, respect, and responsibility. Camps include, but are not limited to, gymnastics, soccer,
football, baseball/softball and cheerleading.
Camp Fun City EAST will utilize the Dunbar
Family Center at 33 Oak Street including the
gymnasium, local high school and college athletic fields, dance studio, outdoor play spaces, and
local parks. Weekly field trips to other athletic programs and guest athletes will give your
camper the winning edge.

FRESHMEN (AGES 6-7):
The youngest unit is a fun introduction to sports for
younger campers. Each day of camp is filled with fun
and exciting games designed to teach young campers
the basics of sports! Daily schedules provide a balance between learning and free time along with group
and individual activities.
JUNIOR VARSITY (AGES 8-9): Our more experi-
enced team will enjoy new challenges and new excitement. Emphasis for this unit will be on learning the
fundamentals and a focus on increased self-confidence, encouraging others, responsibility, and cooperation within the group team.

our elite athletes. The camp day is filled with specialized drills and skills training to be progressive and
challenging and give your athlete the winning edge.
MINI CAMP - SPORTS SPECIALTY CAMPS
CAMP FUN CITY EAST
FOOTBALL: Our flag football camp emphasizes basic to advanced skills instruction and practice in the areas of passing, receiving and defense. Campers will learn the rules of football as well as team concepts and
sportsmanship. This camp is ideal for any youth football player looking to improve their football skills, or a
player who wants to learn the fundamentals of football.
GYMNASTICS: Gymnastics Camp is available for campers entering grades 1-7. Gymnastic campers will
have the opportunity to learn various skills in a fun and safe environment including: tumbling, beam vault
and more! Campers will learn the concepts and fundamentals of gymnastic as well as team concepts and
sportsmanship. This camp is ideal for any camper looking to improve their flexibility, tumbling skills, or a
camper who wants to learn the fundamentals of gymnastics. No previous experience is necessary.
SOCCER: Our soccer camp will emphasize basic to advanced skills instruction and practice in the areas of
shooting, ball control, passing and defense. Campers will learn the rules of soccer as well as team concepts
and sportsmanship. This camp is ideal for any youth soccer player looking to improve their soccer skills, or a
player who wants to learn the fundamentals of soccer.
CHEERLEADING: Our cheer camps emphasize basic to advanced skills instruction and practice in the
areas of basic motions, jumps, cheers, routines and chants. Learn and practice the fine art of cheering and
tumbling. Show off your skills during afternoon games our Olympic games.
BASKETBALL: Springfield is the birthplace of basketball and at CFCE you will know it. We have developed
a rigorous program designed for all skill levels. Our basketball camp will emphasize basic to advanced skills
instruction and practice in the areas of shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding and defense. Campers will
learn the rules of basketball as well as team concepts and sportsmanship. This camp is ideal for any youth
basketball player looking to improve their basketball skills, or a player who wants to learn the fundamentals of basketball. Basketball camp includes trips to Springfield College (Where the game was invented) to
the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of fame. We will have special guest coaches and trainers to give your
child the edge they need to succeed! No previous experience is necessary.
T-BALL/BASEBALL/SOFTBALL: Learn the basics of America’s pastime. Our T-Ball/Baseball/Softball
camp emphasizes basic to advanced skills instruction and practice in the areas of batting, fielding, throwing
and base running. Campers will learn the rules of baseball as well as team concepts and sportsmanship. This
camp is ideal for any youth baseball player looking to improve their baseball skills, or a player who wants
to learn the fundamentals of baseball. Whether they are new to the sport or are already on a team we help
train, develop and polish your young athlete. No previous experience is necessary.
AGES 13-15
Teen Camp combines traditional summer
camp activities, field trips and a leadership
development component that provides job
skills and leadership training for future
work placement.
The camp is based at the North End
Outreach Center.

Health & Safety:
Our program is designed with the health and safety of campers in mind.
A full time health administrator is on duty at camp and a physician is
on call daily. Our camps operate under American Camping Association
guidelines. They also comply with regulations of the Massachusetts
Department of Public Health and are licensed by the local board of
health.
Talented & Caring Staff:
The key to success is our experienced and enthusiastic staff. YMCA
summer staff are carefully chosen from a variety of colleges and most
are education, social work or recreation students. In addition we have
highly specialized staff for each activity area to ensure that campers
receive a quality learning experience.
Camp Fees/ Deposits:
All costs associated with camp, with the exception of before and after
camp care, are covered in the session fee. A completed registration
form and deposit (see registration form) for each child per session is
required to hold a spot. Deposits are applied to camp fees and are
non-transferable and non-refundable. The Springfield YMCA will bill you
for the balance of camp fees each session. Fees are due 7 days prior to
each camp session. *Note: Full fee of $100/session for Teen Camp is due
at registration.
Sibling Discounts:
* A $20 discount on camp fees is provided for the 2nd sibling, a $30
discount for the third, and a $40 discount for the fourth child, each
session they attend together.
*Discounts do not apply to YMCA Scholarships or State financial
assistance recipients.
Member Pricing:
Members of the YMCA of Greater Springfield receive substantial
discounts on camp fees and program fees. For more information on

Welcome Center staff at any of our YMCA Family Centers or visit us on

Camper Childcare Scholarships:
The YMCA believes in making our programs and services affordable for
all. Funding is made possible through the generous contributions to our
CommUNITY Scholarship Campaign by YMCA donors, members and staff.
Our childcare scholarships are for working parents or those attending
school, who have no one at home to care for their children. Special
hardship situations will be taken into consideration. Please download
the childcare scholarship application from our website or call
413-596-2749 x3109.
Parent Information Pack:
Parent information packs will be available once a registration form and
deposit are received. Forms are available via download from our website
www.springfieldy.org or can be picked up from the YMCA. Parent Packs
can be mailed by request. All registration items are due 15 days prior
to the start of each session.
$10.00 Facility Maintenance Fee
A one-time Facility Maintenance Fee of $10.00 will be charged to
each camper upon their initial registration. The fee will go the general
up keep of the camp property, which in turns helps to keep program
fees down.
