Global Stone Workshop®
The workshop fee is 360€/6 days and includes:
◦ A working space at the studio, Artistici Marmi Apuani (Ama Srl) plus
a medium-size block of marble per week.
◦ A single room accommodation at Albergo Turimar, in Marina di
Massa. It is right by the sea, 2,5km from the stone yard.
For the past 20 years, Global Stone Workshop®
has organized gatherings at AMA Srl, which runs
a nice, spacious, well-equipped studio, located
300 meters from the sea and with a view of the
Carrara marble quarries.
Artists are required to bring their own tools. We
will help inexperienced participants by showing
the different tools and how to use them and help
to buy the basic tools needed.
With the sea nearby and temperate weather even in
the summer, it is an ideal place to alternate work with
life by the sea and visiting historical sites.
Carrara is on the beautiful coast of Tuscany at the foot
of the Apuani Alps from which the historical Carrara
marble is quarried. It is 110 km from Florence, 50 km
from Pisa and 40 km from Lucca.
