Summer 2015 Ramsey County Library Summer Reading Program Supported by: Summer Reading Program Saturday, June 6 - Sunday, August 16 Get reading with Bookawocky! Ramsey County Library’s 2015 Summer Reading Program is designed to inspire and encourage children of all ages to read throughout the summer. Kids: Ages 4 and Under Pick up a reading record at any Ramsey County Library. Color one image for each day you read or have books read to you. After 14 days of reading, bring your record in for a prize of your choice. Prizes include books, CDs, shaker eggs and more.* Kids: Ages 5 - 11 Media Sponsors: Simply read four books and either write about or draw a picture illustrating each book you read. Turn in your four forms to any Ramsey County Library to receive a prize. Prizes include a free book, coupon for Culver’s ice cream and more.* Teens: Ages 12 - 19 All you have to do is read a book and tell us what you think of it. Mu Performing Arts presents four fun, short plays based on Hmong folk stories about tigers and their significance to the Hmong culture. Chinese, Indian, Mongolian, Hmong and Thai dances will be featured with an opportunity to take part in a ribbon dance at the end of the program. This program was funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Journey Through Africa with Como Zoo Friday, July 10, 10:30 a.m. RCL - White Bear Lake Appropriate for all ages. A journey through Africa takes children on a “tour” through the African desert, savanna and tropical rainforest, meeting live plants and animals from these areas along the way. Learn to count in Swahili and explore a great folktale that originated in Africa. Juggler Alan Johnson Friday, July 17, 10:30 a.m. RCL - White Bear Lake An action-packed comedy magic show for all ages! This fast-paced, funny and extremely visual show is sure to entertain. The On-Time Circus is a puppet show performed out of a puppet wagon! Sure to delight the whole family, this show includes clowns, original music, animals and more.
