Welcome to Darlington Raceway
Welcome to Darlington Raceway, NASCAR’s original superspeedway and the track
that is still “Too Tough to Tame.”
Everyone at Darlington Raceway is excited for the 2010 Southern 500 and
Darlington 200 on Mother’s Day weekend. These two nights of competition will give
fans a chance to see NASCAR’s biggest stars try to tame the “Lady in Black” and
earn their Darlington Stripes. The weekend will culminate on Saturday night when the
Johnny Mantz Southern 500 trophy is awarded to the winning driver in Victory Lane.
In addition to the NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
action this Mother’s Day weekend the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will
return to Darlington Raceway on August 14 for the “Too Tough To Tame” 200. The
one-day show marks the first time the trucks have run at Darlington since 2004.
We will once again host the Darlington Historic Racing Festival and have added
two new components for 2010; a swap meet and car show. The two-day festival will
take place on Saturday, September 25 and Sunday, September 26 and will feature
vintage race cars, appearances by racing legends, autograph and question and
answer sessions as well as exhibition runs.
