Dear Parent and Caregivers
No 17 Term 4 Week 2
23 October 2014
Welcome to Term 4, 2014. We have had a smooth start to what promises to be a very
busy and exciting term.
Principal: Robyn Ravalico
Assistant Principal: Stam Matheos
We believe that good communication is the foundation for successful school and home
partnerships. This term we will be introducing ‘Skool bag’.

What is Skoolbag?
Skoolbag will provide our school with an easy way to tell
parents/carers everything they need to know, and it provides
parents with the most convenient way to receive school
notifications.
No more lost paper in student school bags! School newsletters,
school notices and alerts are communicated directly to the
parent smartphone through the Skoolbag school Mobile App.
Skoolbag is a school Mobile App that communicates directly with
iPhone, and Android devices.
How does it work?
Our school has registered with Skoolbag. The Skoolbag
company will configure our School Mobile App. This process
happens very quickly, and our school will be able to create our
own content categories and upload our notifications and/or
documents.
After that, parents add the School Mobile App to their phone,
and can view the schools documents and notifications.

Reception to Year 3 Disco will
commence at 5.30pm and run until
7.00pm. The Year 3-7 Disco will follow
at 7.15pm to 9.00pm.
Our fundraising parents have been

many students there as possible.
Class Placement notes
due back tomorrow
(FRIDAY 24/10/14)!
We will inform parents and families with instructions once the app is ready to be uploaded. You
will still be able to receive hard copies of newsletters if you wish.
Edublogs
Many of our teachers are in the process of constructing their classroom blogs. The blogs
contain information about weekly homework, term overviews, photos of class events, links to
the Australian curriculum and much more. As well, the blogs will allow a two way
communication between you and your child’s teacher. Your child’s classroom teacher will
provide you with information once their blog has been established.

We are excited to have been chosen as the kindergarten in our
partnership to trial the newly developed draft of the DECD
numeracy indicators. Again Robyn, Marg and Catherine have
been very supportive and we will be meeting to discuss our
understandings of the numeracy elements in this document.
This is another opportunity for us to work together to ensure
that for the children transitioning to school next year there will
be greater continuity in their learning. Other processes that
support the children’s successful transition to school include;
meeting to discuss class placements, joining the junior Primary
classes for activity, Marg and Catherine visiting the children at
Kindy, the junior primary classes visiting us at Kindy, Sarah
welcoming us to the library and accommodating us to swap
days to enable other children at Kindy to have this experience,
the kindy children accessing the school playground giving them
the opportunity to build their confidence and skills prior to
starting school next year and having the opportunity to explore
the delightful school gardens which we did last week to collect
natural materials for our collage area.
The children also discovered the new frog ponds and were keen
to taste a white mulberry! We will be back when they are fully
ripe!
