Comment from the editor about this newsletter: In August/September Newton Lions Board put out a survey about our meeting place. Thanks to the Lions Club members that responded. With that information the board in September decided to try some place else and picked the Asbury Park large meeting room. The motion stated the change would take place in January of 2015 until further notice. Please inform President Lion Tom about your thoughts about this meeting place. Please read the minutes of the Board meetings. Pages 6-8 TIME FOR SOME HUMOR (HOPE YOU SEE THE HUMOR) Three good friends were driving along on the highway one Saturday: a doctor, a teacher, and a lawyer. All of a sudden, a brand new pickup cut them off. In an attempt to miss the big vehicle. The driver swerved to the left and hit the median. The car flipped several times and all three friends died instantly. They all found themselves in line waiting to get into heaven. The doctor asked the others, “Hey what do you want people to say at your funeral? I want them to say, “She was a great doctor and she never let down any of her patients.” The teacher said, “ I want people to remember me as a great educator, so I would want to hear people say , “He was a wonderful teacher ,a great role model for children, and he changed countless lives throughout his career.” Then the lawyer said, “I would like people to say,—Hey– Look! He’s moving!” Administration $4,157.33 Activity $10,728.96 ACCOUNT AS OF 12/31/2014 BALANCES Newton Lions Club Board Meeting Minutes September 18, 2014 12:00 noon @ Asbury Park Lakeside Lounge Present: Tom Schneider, Carrie Herman, Mike Petitjean, Elaine Brown, Daryl Cooper, Matt Seger, Ron Bretz, Les Heisz, Bill Richter Absent: Jim Daily, Pat Kirkpatrick, Erin McDaniel, John Back, Bob Burke, and Brenda Dalton Lion Tom Schneider opened the meeting with prayer.
