One-night Event on October 26
Special Kabuki Performance by KATAOKA Ainosuke,
John WOO and Yoji YAMADA will receive SAMURAI Award!!

Thank you for your interest in the 28th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF).
We are pleased to announce that “Special Night at Kabukiza Theatre” will be held on October 26th as one
of the highlights of TIFF in its second year. This year KATAOKA Ainosuke will appear in the Kabuki
performance ‘Ame no Gorõ (Gorõ in the Rain)’. As a special treat, “They Who Step on the Tiger’s
Tail”, which was filmed before World War II by the great master Akira KUROSAWA, will be screened with
a new 35 mm print with English subtitles. Between the programs, the SAMURAI Award ceremony will be
held to honor the recipients, Dir. John WOO and Dir. Yoji YAMADA. Actress Sayuri YOSHINAGA and
Keishi OTOMO will appear as a special guest. It would be a gorgeous event as we have invited a broad
range of special guests for the evening. Those press members who wish to cover the event, please
submit a pre-application form by October 25 (Sun.) 5:00pm Japan Time.

October 26 (Mon), 2015/5:30 pm *30 min. intermission to be arranged during the event
■Venue:
The Kabukiza Theatre, 4-12-15 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo
■Press Registration： Starts at 3:30 pm
* Registration desk located on the left side of the main gate of the theatre
* Due to its limited spaces, not all requests can be met.
* ENG crew members of each key stations will be given the priority and determined via random drawing.
(Please refer the press area(s) in the attached layout of the theater.)
* Please assign one crew member of each station.
* All members of the media covering “Special Night at Kabukiza Theatre” must be properly attired.
* Covering only the photo session of KATAOKA Ainosuke is not permitted.
* Kabuki Performance “Ame no Gorõ” cannot be broadcasted for full length. Also it is strictly prohibited to use
it for Web media.
