Warm when cold. Dry when wet. Protected when windy.
GORE-TEX® fabrics provide extreme breathability and are
uaranteed to protect you against wind and water.

Coolmax®
Coolmax® is the performance fabric that includes an effective
fibrebased moisture management system. It moves perspiration away from the body, allowing you to keep cool in any
situation.
Nomex®
Cordura®
Nomex® Comfort
Nomex® reacts to extreme heat, as the fibre itself swells and
bsorbs a significant part of the heat energy. The fabric stays supple
a
and flexible, providing the best possible protection without
impairing mobility.
WINDSTOPPER® fabrics
Originally made to support the military, this versatile and
exceptionally durable material can take just about anything.
Stop windchill in its tracks. The durable WINDSTOPPER® fabrics
ffers total windproofing and maximum breathability to keep you
o
warm and dry. Comfortable both indoors and outdoors.
Cocona®
Cocona® absorbs body moisture and keeps you dry. The active
particles utilise energy released by your body to accelerate
evaporation and increase breathability. What’s more; the
material is partly made from coconut shells, recycled from the
food industry!
Polartec®
It’s soft, it breathes and weighs almost nothing. This body-hugging
fabric moves with you while keeping you warm and dry.

SAFETY FOOTWEAR
Fristads Kansas safety footwear is made from natural and synthetic materials that comply with all the quality and performance
requirements of EN ISO 20345. The materials are carefully selected to provide the ultimate in comfort and safety. Our footwear
is labelled with the following symbols to help you choose the features you need:
Toe cap capable of withstanding at least 200 Joules on impact
and 15,000 Newtons on compression.
SB
Oil and chemical resistant sole.
SB
Heel section that absorbs a minimum of 20 Joules.
During a long working day on hard industrial floors, feet need footwear that provides comfort and shock absorption. The two pressure points on the foot are the heel and the forefoot. HFC® – Heel
and Forefoot Concept – is the first complete system to take this
into account. The system comprises shock-absorbing gel cushions placed in the insole. The gel cushions go through the insole,
which is extremely important for the best result. The cushions give
feet the comfort and shock absorption they need while walking.
Rhinostep® nail protection consists of an aramid fibre combined
with other materials. The nail protection is soft and flexible and
has excellent thermal properties. Gen Y’s three HT models, Apollo,
Leo and Gemini, combine Rhinostep® nail protection with HFC®.
Here the nail protection is placed below the gel cushions to protect the entire sole.
E
Nail protection that prevents sharp objects piercing the shoe and
can withstand at least 1,100 Newtons.
Toe caps in safety footwear are usually made of steel. The aluminium toe cap used in Gen Y footwear is just as strong, but 50%
lighter than a traditional steel toe cap, a feature that’s important
for the weight and balance of the shoe.
P
Antistatic properties with electrical resistance between 100k and
1,000 M.
One of our footwear models uses a composite toe cap, which is
considerably lighter than traditional steel. The advantages of a
composite toe cap are that the footwear is metal-free and that
composite does not conduct cold.
A
Waterproof footwear.
Our Gen Y sole has a specially designed pattern for maximum grip
and comfort. It has a non-skid outer layer of TPU, and a shock-absorbing inner PU layer for added comfort. The Gen Y sole maximises the effect of HFC®. Almost all our models have this sole, and
also external shank support.
WR
Water-repellent upper.
WRU
Warm lined.
L-protection® nail protection comprises several layers of impermeable ceramically treated fi bres. The nail protection is antistatic. It protects a larger area of the foot than traditional steel nail
protection, helping to increase safety. The weight of our nail protection is reduced by over 30% compared with steel nail protection. The protection is soft and fl exible, and also insulates against
the cold. Combined with its lightness, this means extra comfort
for the wearer.
CI
Built-up sole in toe section.
If the footwear has several of the above characteristics,
the labelling may be simplified as follows:
Class 1 leather and/or textile footwear
S1 = SB + A + E
S2 = SB + A + E + WRU
S3 = SB + A + E + WRU + P
