This trail is ideal for people who like cycling on gravel
roads. It leads to the Inn at Katrinelund, and follows the
same route back if you don’t choose to investigate the
surrounding area with the help of the map.
The trail takes you from Örebro Castle and along Svartån
river and past the Oset nature reserve. Further on, on
the edge of lake Hjälmaren, you pass the pretty farm of
Hjälmarsnäs with its fantastic landscape of oak and wood
anemone.
When you cycle through Ekeby Almby, it’s worth stopping
for a while at the farm shop called ”Vårt lilla torp”.
The trail takes you onwards, beside Hjälmaren and you
come out on the flat land of the Närkesslätten. Here you
mainly ride on gravel road before you finally come to your
destination:
The Inn at Katrinelund. Why not stop for lunch here? You
will find it to be delicious! Take a break on the jetty and
enjoy our wonderful lake landscape before turning back
along the same trail or finding your own new route back to
Örebro.
Parts of the section from Örebro run along the same route
as the Hemfjärden runt trail.
