The Bedouin shuk in Be’er-Sheva was founded in 1905 as a place for the exchange of
goods. Today, the colorful market offers its visitors a wealth of authentic and Oriental
memorabilia in the way of clothes, ornaments and crafts, housewares, rugs, spices and
more. Open every Thursday from the early morning hours.

Situated within the Be’er-Sheva River Park, and was built in1943 as part of an ‘outposts
plan,’ along with Kibbutz Revivim and Kibbutz Gvulot. The site served as an agricultural
settlement until the outbreak of the War of Independence, during which it withstood
heavy bombing by the Egyptian army. The site has been restored and renovated by the
Jewish National Fund and has been declared a national monument.

A social-experiential, handicapped-accessible playground. The park was established with
the support of the Pratt Foundation, and commemorates the soldiers of the ANZAC
(Australian & New Zealand Army Corps), who fought in the battle of Be’er-Sheva in 1917,
during WWI. The dramatic statue of an Australian soldier on his horse situated in the park,
and brought over from Australia, represents the valiant ANZAC soldier. Suitable for every
population, the park is appropriate also for special-needs children and holds fun activities
and events year-round for the entire family.
