Be open. Because some communicators are deaf. Because some visionaries are blind. Because some movers and shakers are paralyzed. Because the only true disability is a mind stuck in the closed position. At Splore, outdoor adventures are simply the medium we have chosen to change someone’s life for the better. We are committed to removing any and all barriers to experiencing the joy, bonding, and empowerment that comes from a meaningful outdoor trip. We believe that with adequate support, encouragement and planning, anyone can fall asleep under the stars, feel the thrill of the rapids, climb to the top of a rock wall, and most importantly, feel loved and accepted. “I had a really good day today. I want to help other veterans get involved with this. Lots of these guys have come down a really hard road in life, you know? Having a good day like this is just what they need.” -Veteran after rock climbing with Splore Vision: Regardless of ability, background or income, all people will have the opportunity to experience the magic of the outdoors, the dignity of risk, and the spirit of connectedness. They get to challenge their fears, try something new and realize that they are capable of so much more than they thought. Sadly enough many of our kids never get to experience our beautiful mountains, even though they are just minutes away. I love that Splore gives them the opportunity to explore our natural world and everything it has to offer. It really brings out the kid in our kids!” -Erin Clark- Social Worker www.splore.org
