Three words come to mind as I think back on this memorable event - excitement, activity, and progress. My goal with this
column is never to write a fluff piece. But, honestly, those are the words that come to mind with our annual conference. So if it
sounds like a fluff piece, then, so be it. Here are some of the images that stick: Celebrating Colorado. For me, the two most
spine-tingling moments of the week came when Dr. Denise Clark, President of the Colorado Association of Naturopathic
Doctors, and Colorado state Rep. Joann Ginal stepped forward to accept their awards as Physician of the Year and Legislator

AANP Unveils a New Tagline
The American Association of Naturopathic Physicians unveiled its new tagline at its recent conference in Keystone, CO "Naturopathic Physicians: Natural Medicine. Real Solutions." The tagline is one product of extensive consumer research AANP
has undertaken to learn how current and prospective patients view naturopathic physicians. The insights gained through the
research will guide AANP's ongoing public education efforts about naturopathic medicine. Continue reading.
Member in the Spotlight: Michael Uzick, ND
Arizona Illustrated Science, on PBS, recently aired a news segment on the concept of "Food as Medicine." They featured
the inspirational story of Colleen, who came to see Naturopathic physician, Dr. Michael Uzick, for help with a serious health
condition and how food can be one of our most powerful medicines! We're so proud to have this testament to the healing power

Save the Date for OncANP's 2014 conference, which will again be held at the Arizona Grand Resort and Spa in
Phoenix, Arizona. The dates: February 14th-16th, 2014. A Call for Abstracts has been posted.
Credentialing NDs as Team Physicians for Professional Sports? I am interested to know if there are
currently NDs working as Team Physicians for any professional/semi-professional sports teams. I think NDs have a great deal
to offer in terms of head injury, concussion, first aid, and recovery from traumatic injuries. There is an MD/DO organization that
credentials team doctors but they don't accept NDs. Is there anyone who I could talk to who's created this sort of position
