Typical Programme
3 Night Improver Holidays
Day 1: Arrive from 1:00 p.m. Anyone wishing to have the room earlier
must book the night before. Drinks with Helen at 5:30 p.m. Dinner at
6:00 p.m. Bridge (Duplicate Pairs) at 7:30p.m.
Days 2 & 3: Breakfast from 7:30 a.m. Bridge Seminar at 10:00 a.m.
with break for tea/coffee & homemade biscuits. Afternoon free. Drinks
with Helen at 5:30 p.m. Dinner at 6:00 p.m. Bridge (Duplicate Pairs on
Day 2, Mystery Teams on Day 3) at 7:30p.m.
Day 4 Breakfast from 7:30 a.m. Safe journey home!
3 Night Holidays

Apart from the “Improver” holidays all my
holidays are licensed by the EBU. Generous
prizes are awarded at every session with
Master points at District Scale as appropriate.
All my holidays are personally hosted by me,
Helen Barr, often in the company of my
husband, Patrick.
Bridge is as well organised as you would expect with an EBU TD in
command.
All the rules of bridge are obeyed, but I never lose sight of my own
favourite, law 74, so bridge is always fun!
I have all mod cons, including electronic scoring with Bridgemate IIs,
meaning results are ready within seconds of the last table finishing, and
duplicated boards, with copies of the hands available at the end of play
for either formal or informal discussion.

Terms & Conditions
1. Helen will book the accommodation on your behalf. Remember
to ask at the time of booking if you have any special requirements.
It is amazing how the hotel staff seem to be able to cope with
anything I throw at them, but I do prefer to forewarn them. No
deposit is required. You will pay your room charges to the hotel
on departure.
2. Your bridge/hospitality fee is payable at or before the first bridge
session and covers bridge, prizes, seminar notes or master points
as applicable, drinks with Helen each evening, and hotel staff
gratuities.
3. Competitive Bridge holidays are licensed by the EBU and master
points at district level will be awarded at all sessions.
4. All players are expected to conform to the rules and regulations
set down by the EBU and especially the ones about being a good
host and a good guest at the bridge table. Helen insists bridge
should be fun!
5. You may play as much or as little bridge as you wish, but if you are
planning to miss a session, it would be helpful if you could let
Helen know as soon as possible so she can choose an appropriate
movement and contact local players to make up the numbers if
necessary.
6. Non-playing partners are welcome to join the holiday for a
reduced hospitality fee.
