Originally the Bowery Savings Bank, this national historic
landmark was designed by Stanford White and built in 1893.
Capitale’s interior features tall Corinthian columns, a beautifully

Offering 17,000 square feet of dedicated event and conference
space located in a landmark building on Manhattan’s Museum
Mile, facilities include a recently renovated conference level,
a 500 fixed-seat theater style auditorium, a wood-paneled boardroom and several multipurpose function rooms. The jewel of the
Academy is our gorgeous Reading Room which faces Central
Park and is perfect for Weddings, Bar Mitzvahs and galas.
Built in 1926, the exterior and interior design of the building
is in the early Romanesque style, unusual for its time since most
buildings of that era were in classical design. The exterior of
the building is limestone and sandstone. The lobby floor is made
of Levanto marble with mosaic borders and bronze inserts
designed specifically for the institution.
Events, meetings and receptions can range in size from 20 to
500 people on weekdays, week nights, weekends and holidays.
The Center also offers comprehensive conference and event
logistic management including pre-event organization, travel
planning and onsite event management. An automated
conference and event package handles registration needs for
any size audience. Tailored audiovisual and media services
include projection and audio equipment, dedicated high-speed
internet connectivity and professional technical assistance.

Previously the headquarters of Bank of America International,
the Broad Street Ballroom, located down the street from the New
York Stock Exchange in the heart of the Financial District, is
an excetional private dining and event facility. We offer several
unique venues which can accommodate up to 550 people for
events ranging from concerts and theatrical performances, to
film and photo shoots, to corporate and private events.
The Ballroom is adorned with 30’ mosaic pillars and a state-ofthe-art, Broadway-quality audio/visual system, complete with
a 22’ x 22’ roll-down projection screen. The real beauty of the
room though, is the 225’ mural by Griffith Bailey Coale, entitled
“A Pageantry of the History of Commerce by Sea”, which wraps
around the perimeter of the room. The venue is an ideal setting
for a variety of events, ranging from cocktail parties to product
launches, concerts to locations for filming, and so much more.
Broad Street Ballroom houses a number of additional spaces
available for rent: gymnasium, pool, conference rooms, theater,
classrooms and a commodore room. Our gymnasium is an ideal
venue for a wide-range of events including: children’s birthday
parties, after-work leagues, indoor sports clinics, film shoots,
concerts, theatrical performances and formal dining functions.

The 5,700-square-foot gymnasium space can accommodate
gatherings of up to 300 guests; our theatre setting has room for
up to 380 guests.
Our new 25-meter five-lane pool is readily available for private
usage, which may include private swimming lessons, training
for aquatic leagues and teams without a home.
A 540 square-foot conference room that is complete with internet
access, phone, and a wall-mounted monitor for displaying
anything from presentations to video montages is a perfect
space to impress major clients, to conduct board meetings or
even rehearsal dinners.In addition, we house a Theater that can
host concerts and performances, and a number of classrooms/
breakout rooms for large seminars, conferences, as well as,

The Foundry, L.I.C. is a dramatic 19th Century architectural
masterpiece. Once known as The Albra Metal Foundry, the
space has been meticulously restored to its charming industrial
character. Many of the original features have been restored
including The Foundry’s cauldrons, chimney shafts and brick
archways. The space easily lends itself to the feel of an
exclusive after-hours nightspot, with areas on both our ground
floor and wraparound mezzanine for those who love to people

We have a state-of-the-art sound system that’s set up to make
your guests feel the music on the dance floor, while the archways

Our 1,000 sq. ft. roof terrace is equipped with cocktail seating,

Upon entering the Mansion, guests encounter a breathtaking
marble foyer; the grand sweeping staircase takes you to the
second floor. In the center of the suite of rooms is The Salon
decorated with crystal chandeliers, antique gilt-framed mirrors
(circa 1780) and a magnificent 15-foot high Adams ceiling with
panels by the 18th century decorative painter Angelica Kaufman.
The walls are padded silk fabric and draperies frame 10-foot
windows with wrought iron balconies beyond.
Adjoining The Salon to the east side is the inviting wood-paneled
library and to the west the dramatic dining salon. Original wide
plank wood flooring, vaulted ceiling, rich Italian marble base
molding and impressive marble fireplace unify all the rooms.
Mckim, Mead & White designed the building in 1909; which was
designated a New York Landmark in 1970 and is listed in the
National Register of Historical Places.
