E-Trakka® – Equine Fitness Monitoring System
The Future is now – every beat counts. E-Trakka® – Equine Fitness Monitoring System “If there’s a way to do it better – find it” Thomas Edison Web www.etrakka.com.au Proudly developed by Equitronics Pty Ltd, Perth, Australia. Email [email protected] What is the E-Trakka system? E-Trakka is an equine fitness monitoring system which includes a state of the art saddle blanket, heart rate monitor, stride length measuring and a GPS speed and timing system. Every second the blanket records speed, stride length and heart rate information which is then downloaded to a “trainer friendly” program called Profiler. The end result is a snap shot in time of your horse’s physical condition, E-Trakka is like a window into the horse’s fitness and welfare on any given day. Over 25,000 readings have now been recorded during actual training sessions and the evidence is overwhelming as to how this information can empower trainers. See the evidence in detail at the end of this brochure. The trainer’s thought process using the E-Trakka system. Step 1- The E-Trakka Blanket is used during trackwork and automatically stores GPS, heart rate and stride length information for multiple horses. Step 4- Using the extra knowledge the trainer now includes this information into his next training decisions. Decisions that now include quantitive information. Step 2- The E-Trakka blanket then easily downloads the training information into the profiler analysis and viewing program. Step 3- The trainer reviews the information and takes actions as neccessary. E.g. Is the horse fit enough to race. The Key Benefits are – Assists in the determination of the horse’s health and fitness. Highlights the horse’s strengths and weaknesses. Assists in the assessment of the horse’s talent. Helps identify lameness issues earlier. Allows training to be tailored to the individual. Helps with race distance selection and tactics. Trainers benefit from the knowledge already accumulated from 20,000 E-Trakka® readings. Provides a management tool for training programs. Designed by horseman for horseman, easy to use, extremely robust, and very accurate. E-Trakka was developed by a company that understands trainers and what the results mean. We promise to help you learn about the system, provide all the support you will need and pass on our knowledge to you. E-Trakka is the most technically advanced training system in the world. In fact the only one of its type and quality The Revolutionary E-TRAKKA® Saddle Blanket Equitronics proudly develop and manufacture the state of the art E-Trakka® saddle blanket. The blanket is the result of 15 years Research and Development “at the track” in the real world environment. In a world first, recent technology developed by Equitronics enables the E-Trakka to accurately measure stride length. Key Features The GPS System is extremely high performance. The basic concept of comparing heart rate to speed is quickly understood by trainers who have never been exposed to the information before. Most trainers understand good and bad recoveries, sick horses, lame horses etc. What most trainers have not seen before is how that information is graphically represented in Profiler and how much value you can gain from it. Now you can! Case study trainer Danny Morton, Perth. The Danny Morton trained Australian horse of the year Scenic Blast (2009) and King Stand Stake’s winner at Newmarket in the UK is one of the most high profile winners amongst many of E-Trakka® stories. E-Trakka® collected over 100 readings of Scenic Blast during his career and Danny used his readings to fine tune his training and specifically aimed Scenic Blast at sprinting. Pat Carey learnt more about his elite staying horses and knew he had a good horse in Ethiopia BEFORE he won the AJC Derby. Pat now owns two E-Trakka’s. (The future is now!!) More than 25,000 readings, that’s a lot of information. Over 25 individual Group 1 winners that’s a lot of elite horses. 1000 slow and sick horses, that’s normal. Just imagine if you were constantly recording all of your horse’s key statistics and comparing them to known knowledge, would that mean that you learnt more about your equine athletes and became a better trainer, it certainly does. Many E-Trakka® case studies among multiple trainers have proven the immense value and benefit of the knowledge to trainers. You now have the opportunity to change your future as a trainer, for the better. “If we didn’t advance we would still be living in caves” – Pat Carey E-Trakka®- Profiler viewing and analysis software Following is a very small collection of E-Trakka software images, there is much more. The first page you see when you open the Profiler program is a list of today’s workouts as below. You then select a horse such as Red Blast (6 starts 4 wins) to open and review their summary page. Other Profiler Features You can then bring up a list for the horse to quickly review key characteristics and compare workouts. You then might compare workouts of either the same horse or different horses. Replay Function The replay function allows for clarification and viewing as it happened of heart rate and speed. For instance with the horse working around a turn out wide the sectional time may be 13 seconds for 200m (or one furlong), but when you replay the workout you can actually see that the horse was travelling at 12.1 SPF (seconds per furlong) meaning his sectional would of been quicker if he was on the fence. Stride Length Measurement The addition of stride length measurement has added another 10 percent of information to the E-Trakka profiles. This knowledge is set to become a standard pre-requisite of equine assessment. Initial results are revolutionary in the industry and this amazing easy to understand information is collected automatically with E-Trakka Read the summary using the link below for more details Visit http://etrakka.com.au/stride-length/ E-Trakka reading examples Group One winners – Pinker Pinker W S Cox Plate, Mosheen VRC Oakes. A final message from the inventor Andrew Stuart: A product that was meant to be: A lifelong passion for horse racing has led to the development of E-Trakka®. After serving five years as a TALL apprentice jockey (420 rides for 55 winners) I was destined to become a racehorse trainer. To further my knowledge I became an assistant foreman for “Cups King” Bart Cummings to find out why he was so successful. I did find out, the Bart Cummings system was simply the most professional system of its time leaving no stone unturned in the endeavour to produce extremely fit, competitive racehorses. Following in the Bart Cummings methodology of professionalism I was one of the early trainers to use heart rate monitors in the late 80s and early 90s. I soon realised the huge potential that heart rate monitoring provided but knew that the heart rate would have to be compared against the speed (work load), and that trainers would need to easily store and visualise the information using the new technology “computers”. And so the concept of E-Trakka® was born 21 years ago. My career took a new turn, sharing the power of the knowledge I had learnt with the thoroughbred racing industry and developing the tools to do it. Being a horseman first, I can confidently tell all trainers I have never seen an E-Trakka® reading that as a horseman I did not learn something extra about an equine athlete. The small effort involved in using E-Trakka® will be the most valuable time you will spend in training. It will empower you to learn more about the fitness of your horses and so therefore make more knowledgeable decisions. The future of training is here. Andrew Stuart (middle) receiving a government Innovation award 2008. I always say in racehorse training you get five points for a good decision and lose ten for a bad one. E-Trakka® reduces the error in training and enhances good decisions. E-Trakka does not replace the trainer, it never will; the E-Trakka system simply provides you with a powerful training tool that provides information to benefit your knowledge. In the end this means more winners for YOU.
