How It Works
1. Each item has a bid sheet on which bidders legibly print their name next to the
dollar amount they are willing to purchase the item for.
2. The bidder’s signature and bid amount on the Silent Auction bid sheet is deemed
binding. The highest bid will be the winning bid. In the event of a dispute the
ICS Christmas Fair Committee’s decision is final.
3. All sales are "final”. No refunds or exchanges are possible.
4. Bidding closes promptly on November 28, 2015 at 12:30pm.
5. Payment may be made by CASH, PERSONAL CHEQUE OR CREDIT CARD
(Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express).
6. No Sales tax or GST is applicable on any item purchased at the auction.
7. The Christmas Fair Committee reserves the right to withdraw any item from the
Auction at any time.
8. The Christmas Fair Committee would like to thank the many parents, teachers,
and donors in the community who have made this auction possible. Your

Sword Fighting with Ms. Kirk
Ms. Kirk is a certified stage combatant (certified by Fight Directors
Canada, who supply fight actors for film, television, and theatre) and will
guide 2 students for 90 minutes, in some of the basic footwork and moves
needed to create a realistic but safe ‘fake fight’ – using blunted weapons,
of course! Participants may choose between fighting with the rapier, the
rapier and dagger, or the broadsword – the techniques and styles are quite
different. All equipment will be provided.

Bloom, Grow, Blossom
Mixed media on canvas. Dimensions: 18” X 44”. This gorgeous artwork
was inspired by children’s story “Miss Rumphius” by Barbara Cooney in
which the main character, Alice Rumphius, sets out on her life’s journey
seeking to accomplish 3 things: journey to faraway places; live by the sea;
and make the world more beautiful. She accomplishes the last of these by
scattering Lupine seeds everywhere she goes, creating a lasting legacy of
wildflowers along the coast of Maine. Inspired by the Lupine Lady’s
challenge of making the world a more beautiful place, the ICS grade 2
class has collaboratively made a canvas full of wildflowers. The 27 class
members each created their own unique flower, choosing from hundreds
of different papers and buttons with the help of a colour wheel. “Every
child is a different kind of flower, and together, make this world a
beautiful garden.”

Cityscape Print Making
This collaborative piece was inspired by the amazing city in which we
live. The colourful images consist of many of Vancouver’s familiar
landmarks, from Science World to Lighthouse Park – to the ones closer to
our heart: the IC school and church. Each student carefully created a
drawing of a different landmark, transferred that drawing to scratch foam
and, using printing ink, created several prints of their image. Each child’s
work is represented in the final piece – a celebration of our city and
community! The final piece measures 60.9 x 91.4 cm (24 x 36 in). It is fully
framed in black wood and glass, and is ready to hang.

All You Need Is Love
This one of a kind, mixed media work of art has been lovingly created by
each student in Mrs. Crowe’s Grade 4 class. First the students, drew and
decorated a heart. Then, they painted a background using acrylic paint
onto a primed 4” x 4” canvas. They then transferred their heart onto the
painted canvas using tracing paper. More layers were added using acrylic
paint and molding paste. The hearts were then fixed with a gel medium
and glued onto 4” x 4” edge grain fir blocks to create their beautiful art
work.

Fairy Garden
Nestled in an antique doll cradle is a miniature wonderland suitable for a
fairy or garden gnome. The grade 5 class, recently graduated from the
Garden Buddy Program at ICS, has put their imagination to the test by
meticulously handcrafting over 100 tiny items out of wood, acorns, moss,
rock, material, and polymer clay. Meant to be an indoor garden, this
whimsical fantasyland is sure to delight and stir up the imaginations of
both young and old!

can drop you off at the Neill’s House between 5&6pm on Friday, February
19th for the Canucks match-up against the Flames. We will start the
evening off with a game of backyard hockey, followed by a pizza dinner
(absolutely no vegetables allowed!). The fun continues with popcorn and
the hockey game on the big-screen in the basement. Intermission will

pure movement that transforms the subject as a product of itself like the
