DISCOVERING OPPORTUNITIES TO LAST A LIFETIME
Overnight, day or specialized camps at the Y share one thing:
they’re about discovery. Youth have the opportunity to explore
nature, find new talents, try new activities, gain independence,
and make lasting friendships and memories. And, of course,
it’s fun too.
PARENT INFORMATION MEETINGS
Learn more about your child’s program, ask questions, and meet
our staff. We encourage new families to attend one meeting at
the Y. Your child can enjoy Kid's Club while you're attending the

WHICH CAMP DO I SIGN UP FOR?
At the Y, our camps are designed to meet the needs of all campers,
regardless of ability, skill or endurance level. We recommend
registering for our Summer Camps designed for specific age
groups and offering an extraordinary experience for new or
returning campers. Or take a look at our Specialized and Sports
Camps for other enriching and fun camp experiences. Each
week features a highlighted theme, so you can use this to help
make your decision. For overnight adventures, consider summer
fun at YMCA Camp Campbell. For summer-long adventures, we
recommend registering your child in a variety of camps to expose
them to a variety of opportunities.
A TYPICAL DAY AT CAMP
Each day, your child should bring sunscreen, water and a full lunch
with a drink to camp. Be sure to label all items. Camps are held
outside (with few exceptions). Every camp includes summer camp
activities such as weekly themed games, environmental education,
crafts, songs and skits. Each camper will receive one camp shirt
per summer. Your child should wear a camp t-shirt on all field trips
and during YMCA sports tournaments. You can purchase more
shirts at our Member Services Desk. Campers must wear closed
toe shoes each day to camp.

TRADITIONAL OVERNIGHT CAMP
MINI CAMP
OUR PROGRAM
SIX-DAY CAMP
Our two-week program emphasizes growth and strengthening
character values in all campers. Throughout the program,
campers learn more about themselves and how to work together
as a cabin group. Whether it is playing an all-camp game,
learning new skills in an activity session, eating dinner in the
dining lodge, or dressing up for our Wacky Tacky Tuesdays,
campers form meaningful relationships, try new things, and have
tons of fun.
Not quite ready for a full camp session? We offer a six-day, fivenight program to introduce campers to camp and our program,
and to get them ready for the full two weeks of camp. Campers
spend their week doing fun activities, making lasting friendships,
and living in a cabin with other campers of similar ages.
Camp is full of traditional outdoor activities like campfires,
hikes, skits and songs, cabin cheers and the chance to sleep
under the stars. Over two weeks, campers disconnect from
the technology and distractions of outside life. Here at camp,
our number one priority is providing a safe, positive camper
experience. We believe that campers are most successful when
given the opportunity to push themselves out of their comfort
zones and discover in themselves resiliency, responsibility and
confidence.

This health history is correct, so far as I know, and the person herein has permission to engage in all prescribed program activities. I assume that the YMCA of
Silicon Valley assumes no financial obligation for such treatment but, in the event that I cannot be reached for an emergency, I hereby give permission to the

of the parent/guardian to pick up or arrange transportation home for the child. The Program Director reserves the right to determine what constitutes a violation
of these rules and will enforce them as necessary.

Research shows that there are essential elements
that are crucial to healthy development. We call
these elements “Developmental Assets.” They are an
integral part of our programs and services.
Developmental Assets help create positive
experiences, relationships, opportunities
and values that young people need to thrive.
Examples of these key assets include: adult
role models; positive peer influence; caring
environments; positive cultural identity;
and a community that values youth.

Developmental Assets and the organization
