What happens in Vegas doesn't always have to stay in Vegas!
Our very own, Neil Goldberg, of "Golden Productions" shared
his pictures and experiences at the Mobile Beat DJ Show in
fabulous Las Vegas. There was entertainment by Digital
Underground, Skee-Lo and even dance instruction by DJ Casper. There were many seminars
with a branding theme this year. “Find something that makes you
different and use that as your brand.”
Neil feels the Las Vegas DJ has more camaraderie for mobile
DJs and the Atlantic City show is tailored for the club DJ. It was
great to have Neil represent BADJA at the West Coast show this
year and discuss his trip. Maybe one day we will see Neil

Cammie Adler, of Adler Entertainment
gave a full briefing on " How to Properly
Prepare Your Taxes for Various Types of
DJ Enterprises". How do you handle your
subcontractors and those 1099 forms? Are
you depreciating your new equipment & vehicles to your
maximum benefit? How do you allocate home office space on
your return? A red flag, which could trigger an audit, is the use of more then 25% use of
your home for business.
Cammie assists with many DJ’s financials. She even helped Jose Castro during his first of
two audits from Uncle Sam. She notes that – you must substantiate all of your expenses with
receipts. Your car miles should be documented and items sold must be reported as income
(recaptured depreciation) if you depreciated that gear. If you have a question about how to
