December 2013 Badja Holiday Party
The annual December Badja holiday party was held at Buca Di Beppo Italian
Restaurant, located at the White Marsh Mall. There was more then enough food for the
hungriest of disc jockeys. Badja members and their guests enjoyed a 5-course meal and
the fun of having a caricature artist in attendance.

BADJA members have elected members
for the next term of the board of directors.
They were officially recognized at the
January meeting and are eager to continue
the success of the Baltimore DJ
Association. Our sincere gratitude to the
previous board members who have passed
the torch and those board members who
stayed on board for another term.

A special thanks to Brad Hart who continued his position as
webmaster even after he left Badja. The webmaster updates the
Badja website with the monthly Badja Beat, spotlight DJ, and
emailing leads from the site. Larry Adler will take on this
responsibility as the webmaster.
Michael Pachino will continue to be our facebook moderator (social media chairman).
Michael would appreciate every member to visit the facebook page and leave a comment.
You could leave a comment about new gear, your event, the Badja meeting, post a picture,
etc….or you could leave a question that may be answered by the facebook DJ family.
Tablets/ Ipads – How They Make Your DJ Business Easier – Alex Kolego
Thanks to Alex Kolego for presenting the 1st program
in 2014 as the program director. He told members how
he uses his Ipad and apps for his Dj business. There are
many free apps like Sign Easy, which allows clients to
sign contracts and instantly email a copy to them. How
about those credit card processing apps like Intuit
GoPayment, Square, or
Paypal? These would be
useful for a quick retainer fee collection after signing a
contract. Don’t forget about apps for your DJ setup like Djay
LE/ Djay 2 & VirtualDJ’s Remote. You could also use
Soundhound, that can identify a song you hear and download
it to your device.
Alex was able to spark excitement about the use of the technology and upcoming DJ
