These revenues include broadcast signal distribution, wholesale to service providers and enterprise. The driving force behind revenue growth will be the ability to serve existing enterprise customers, whose demand for satellite service is getting stronger, while also securing new clients in the emerging markets. Revenue growth will be dependent on band and region, with spending on C band expected to grow by between 2% and 3% in South and Central America and Africa. Spending on the Ku and Ka bands will grow even faster, at between 6% and 7% in those regions from 2014–16. Satellite operators are investing heavily in Ka-band systems, which are expected to generate billions of dollars in annual revenues within the next decade. At the same time, prices are expected to drop by 30% over the next 12–18 months, with O3b reporting that its prices will be between 30% and 50% lower than those of traditional satellite services. Enterprise satellite revenues are expected to rise to $8.1bn in 2018 from $6.2bn (of the total $8.4bn) in 2013. The rise in enterprise satellite service revenues will be driven by the greater availability of services, as well as pricing declines and a corresponding service uptake. The higher proportion of revenues being allocated to enterprise is due to the overlap of enterprise services in B2B with the wholesale space, where operators acquire satellite capacity on behalf of their enterprise customers.
