Good Afternoon Everyone and thank you for joining us
today, May 16, 2003, for our 3rd Annual “Brains Matter
Awareness, Auction & Celebration Luncheon”. This is
my favorite event that the Chris Elliott Fund puts on as it
is our chance to honor those that have touched our lives
through INSPIRATION & HOPE in the past year. The Chris
Elliott Fund is delighted this year to present this year’s
“INSPIRATION” Award to Kathi Goertzen and to the Kathi
Goertzen Foundation in honor of Kathi’s love for life and
her desire to INSPIRE, for HOPE and for a CURE. We are
equally honored this year to present our “HOPE” Award to
Holly Zimmerman as well as to David Heyting. Both of
these individuals are shining examples of the HOPE that
comes from a brain tumor diagnosis when Education,
Awareness, Advocacy and Advanced Treatment is immediately made available to them. Holly and David are
brilliant spokespersons for this disease and through their
leadership, more and more people will end up with the
courage to seek advanced treatment for their brain
tumors which, ultimately, leads to greater survivorship.

Although, CEF’s ultimate goal is to EndBrainCancer, our
immediate focus is on improving the outcomes of those
diagnosed with brain tumors by providing critical and
timely information and IMMEDIATE ACCESS to advanced
brain tumor treatments. THANK YOU FOR YOUR
SUPPORT as this allows us daily to provide critical patient
and family support and also contributes to research by
driving patients and their tumor samples to research
centers. Our goal is to create brain tumor survivors as
well as to advance research.
