How do you find the right coverage for your prized possession?
How do you find the right coverage for your prized possession?
This year marks my 15th year with Continental Western
Group® after buying my first Superformance 427 Cobra
back in May of 2000. Unfortunately, my first claim came
only four months later when CWG’s substance was tested
and their worth confirmed with flying colors... and in such
a successful and confident manner that I thought others
should have the advantage of enjoying the best insurance
coverage on the planet as well.
because a line of cars were
behind them waiting for the
herd to turn off somewhere,
most likely not to get a
burger. In Custer, South
Dakota we met up with several hundred bison weaving in
and out between the little topless sports cars. Exhilarating
was barely enough to describe the event.
Since then, our international organization, the
Superformance Owners Association (SCOF), now has
hundreds of members enjoying the security and coverage
of CWG as well.
Over the past 15 years, I’ve added a few more cars to my
collection which now consists of three 1965 Superformance
427 Cobras, a 1966 Superformance GT-40 and a 1964 Ford
Fairlane 427 Thunderbolt which was used in drag racing
as far back as the 1960s and retired in 2008. The entire
collection is covered by CWG and each vehicle is driven
and enjoyed with the confidence and security one would
need to fully experience that enjoyment.
Our Superformance Owners Association (SCOF)
group consists of people across the globe owning the
Superformance brand Cobra, Coupe, GT40, S1 roadster
and Grand Sport Corvette sports cars with values typically
ranging from $80,000-$180,000. While these cars are
typically shown in Concours level shows and displays,
most of the members choose to also drive and enjoy their
cars - and not just a little here or there, either. The SCOF
group holds three to four long distance cruise events a year
around the country. Event destinations take place anywhere
from the Upper Midwest, to the Deep South and over into
the Great American West. Some of those roads have traffic
other than just additional vehicles, too.
In northern Colorado, a group of 25 cars rounded a corner
to meet a herd of cattle trotting up the road - on their side of
the centerline as if they had done this before. I bet they had
In other areas of the country, we have traveled the most
majestic peaks of the Rockies, well past 14,000 feet in
elevation, where you inevitably are going to run into hail.
No problem, we’re covered. Luckily, Superformance is
one of the strongest, most reliable Cobras ever made, and
coupling that with CWG leaves its owners free to enjoy the
ride, rather than worrying about it.
In the 44 events that SCOF has held over the past 15
years, our owners traveled over 1.5 million cumulative
miles while enjoying America’s scenic back roads with their
precious sports cars.
Driving the country and enjoying the most priceless
collector cars, is what collecting cars is all about. Being able
to do it with the confidence of a good and honest insurance
organization, like CWG, makes all the difference in the level
of enjoyment experienced with your car. Kathy B. MooreStark has been a wonderful friend and partner to SCOF,
and is one of the significant reasons so many in the SCOF
group sought to have their prized possessions insured by
CWG. Good insurance is as important of a component to
your car as any seat belt, roll bar or bumper.
