Fun with Trains Do you like trains? I love trains. Trains can take
Fun with Trains Do you like trains? I love trains. Trains can take people and things many different places. There are many different kinds of trains. Let’s have some fun counting the cars on a train. Look at the picture of the train. How many cars are there behind the engine? (Remember do not count the engine as one of the cars.) 1 3 5 Look at this train. There are letters instead of train cars, but there are some places where the letters are missing. Can you help by writing the missing letters in the spaces? Look at the two trains below. See how many differences you can find. In the story The Little Engine That Could, a little locomotive had to pull a heavy train up a very steep hill. He kept saying, “I think I can, I think I can,” over and over until he made it. The locomotive did not give up. Can you fill in the missing numbers in the train below? Remember to say “I think I can,” as you are trying to fill in the missing numbers and when you are finished, you can say, “I thought I could!” Look at the picture of the train below. Draw a circle around the blue car. Draw a square around the yellow car. Draw a triangle around the green car. In the train below, are all of the cars blue or are most of the cars blue? In the train below, what color is the engine? What color is the first car? What color is the second car? Look at the picture of the train below. Draw a circle around the car that has a lion in it. Draw a square around the car that has a monkey in it. Draw a triangle around the car that has a giraffe in it. Match the cars that are the same color. Then color the picture of the train on the next page.
