Väderstad Genuine Parts Developed and tested for optimal results Profitable crop production is our driving ambition Väderstad develops and manufactures soil tillage implements and seed drills of very high quality. Our driving ambition is to create flexible machines that produce the desired results irrespective of the til�lage system in use on the farm. Most of our machines carry out several operations in one pass and have a high capacity - all to save time, energy and money. Thousands of farmers around the world can testify that a Väderstad machine does an excellent job and has a long life. No detail is unimportant Each detail of a Väderstad machine has a function to perform and therefore strength, precise fit and durability are of the greatest importance for us, regardless of whether we are dealing with a bolt or a full frame construction. In order to ensure that our machines operate in line with our intention of helping to optimise crop production economics for the farmer, we carry out numerous, repeated tests in the laboratory and in the field. This provides us with confirmation that we are maintaining uniformly high manufacturing quality, irrespective of whether the subject of the tests costs a little or a lot. 2 20 advanced test rigs do the work 4 By conducting repeatable tests under controlled conditions, results are obtained in a short time. Trials that would take several years to carry out in the field can be simulated in a laboratory environment, and run day and night. Many different technological solutions can be tested during the actual development process, which means that the best option can be quickly identified. The lead time from idea to finished product on the market is therefore short. Today Väderstad offers a broad portfolio of Carrier implements with disc diameter 450 or 610 mm and different toolbars, with CrossCutter Disc for ultra-shallow cultivation and control of field hygiene. Väderstad works with conically shaped discs, where each disc is mounted on its own arm. The idea behind this is to always produce optimal results across the entire working width and maintain the same working angle relative to the soil surface, irrespective of working depth or degree of wear. The conical disc also presses down stones instead of bringing them up to the surface. Specialist hardened V-55 disc A hardwearing disc must have a wellbalanced combination of properties such as hardness and elasticity. If the material is too hard the disc is brittle and susceptible to cracking. If it is too elastic instead, it wears quickly. All Väderstad discs are now made from specialist hardened steel in a process that does not compromise the elasticity. We have named this V-55, where 55 represents the degree of hardness on the HRC/Rockwell scale. Normally hardened wearing parts have a hardness of 45-48 HRC. The material in V-55 has been shown to extend disc life considerably. Ruthless endurance testing in our stone quarry. In order to guarantee long life, all wearing parts get to endure everything from abrasive sandy soils to tough clay and stony soils. The finished machines are also driven lap after lap in a gravel pit and a stone quarry, to stress test frames and welds. In that environment the machines undergo more ruthless treatment than they will ever experience again and it effectively reveals any shortcomings, which can be remedied. This leads to long life and thus good overall economy. Greaseless bearings save time Bearings are a sensitive point on the machine and here long life must be achieved in an extremely aggressive environment. Väderstad’s sealed bearings units are completely maintenance free. The bearings have x-seals that effectively prevent dirt from entering. 5 In addition to manufacturing in Väderstad, since 2011 we also own 100% of the production capacity of Svensk Presshärdning. On a production area of 9000 square metres, around 35 robots and a similar number of employees laser cut, mill, press, specially harden (V-55), sand blast and spray 500,000 discs per year. With the modular shin and point system, one and the same tine can carry out work in different soil zones.
