For Those Not Receiving Holy Communion
Aware that there are often those who come to Mass who are not Catholic,
or for some reason cannot partake in Communion, we would like to invite
those people in our assemblies to still come forward in the Communion
procession and, as they approach the Priest or Extraordinary Minister of
Holy Communion, to simply cross their arms over their chest, so that they
might receive a simple blessing.
This is a practice that is utilized in may parts of our country, as a way of
making people feel more welcomed and included.

Riflessione del mese di luglio
IO SONO LA VITE, VOI I TRALCI - COMMENTO
A GV 15, 1-11
(Madre Teresa di Calcutta, Missione d'amore)
Il capitolo 15 di Giovanni ci avvicinerà al Cristo. Il Padre,
essendo il vignaiolo, deve potare il tralcio perché dia più
frutto, e il frutto che dobbiamo produrre nel mondo è
bellissimo: l'amore del Padre e la gioia. Ognuno di noi è
un tralcio.
Quando andai l'ultima volta a Roma, volevo dare qualche
piccolo insegnamento alle mie novizie e pensai che
questo capitolo fosse il più bel modo di capire che cosa
siamo noi per Gesù e che cosa è Gesù per noi. Ma non
mi ero resa conto di ciò di cui invece si resero conto
quelle giovani suore quando considerarono quanto è
robusto il punto di innesto dei tralci nella vite: come se la
vite temesse che qualcosa o qualcuno le strappi il tralcio.
Un'altra cosa su cui quelle sorelle richiamarono la mia
attenzione fu che, se si guarda la vite, non si ve dono
frutti.
Tutti i frutti sono sui tralci. Allora esse mi dissero che
l'umiltà di Gesù è così grande che egli ha bisogno dei
tralci per produrre frutti. Questo è il motivo per cui ha fatto
tanta attenzione al punto di innesto: per poter produrre
quei frutti egli ha fatto l'attacco in modo tale che si debba
usare la forza per romperlo. Il Padre, il vignaiolo, pota i
tralci per produrre più frutto, e il tralcio silenzioso, pieno
d'amore, incondizionatamente si lascia potare. Noi
sappiamo che cos'è la potatura, poiché nella nostra vita ci
deve essere la croce e quanto siamo più vicini a lui e
tanto più la croce ci tocca e la potatura è intima e
delicata.
Ognuno di noi è un collaboratore di Cristo, il tralcio di
quella vite; e che cosa significa per voi e per me essere
collaboratori di Cristo?
Significa dimorare nel suo amore, avere la sua gioia,
diffondere la sua compassione, testimoniare la sua
presenza nel mondo.

XVI DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO
El señor vino al mundo principalmente para salvarnos, librándonos de la ignorancia y del pecado.
Durante todo su ministerio terrenal, el Señor estuvo rodeado de multitudes y con gran compasión y
comprensión , se dió el tiempo necesario para “enseñarles muchas cosas” . En efecto, no fue sino
hasta que les había dado alimento para el Corazón y la mente, con el mensaje del Evangelio, que
empezó a preocuparse de sus necesidades físicas y les dio pan para comer.
Incluso ahora , en la Santa Misa, la liturgia de la palabra viene antes de la liturgia de la Eucaristía ,
por que no hemos de aproximarnos a la mesa del Señor sin antes haber saciado el corazón y la
mente con el alimento de la Palabra de Dios y reflexionar detenidamente en lo que dicen las Sagradas Escrituras.
Naturalmente , experimentar el amor de Dios es algo vital, pero no es más que una parte de la ecuación,por que sino nos preocupamos de alimentar el alma y el espiritu no estaremos en condiciones de doblegar nuestra propia naturaleza caida, ni sabremos percibir la acción de Dios en nosotros y en el mundo. No basta con sentir el toque divino; también hay que saber como actúa el Señor y aprender a ajustar nuestra vida a sus enseñanzas.
Deseas recibir la paz de Cristo? Quieres librarte de los pecados que te tienen atrapado ? Escudriña
las Escrituras para conocer la sabiduría de Dios; pídele al Señor que te abra la mente cada vez que
vas a Misa, incluso puedes colocar una o dos biblias en diversos lugares de tu casa , para
acordarte de que hay que alimentar el espíritu. Mantente despierto y alerta; haz lo que sea necesario para leer la palabra de Dios todos los dias y aplicarla en tu vida practica. Recuerda que todos
los dias el Maestro está esperando que le abras la puerta de tu Corazón.

Rosary Society
The Rosarians welcome all women of the Parish. The Society is dedicated to the Blessed Mother, the growth of the
love of God through Mary. We honor the Blessed Mother by
the constant and reverent praying of the rosary in our daily
life.
We are involved in all Parish activities, liturgical and social –
and keep informed about civic community activities.
Spiritual activities include an Annual Retreat, Annual Communion Breakfast and Baby Shower for Unwed Mothers.
The Society raises money to help our Church continue outreach efforts. The fundraisers include: Christmas Fair, Basket Night, Chinese Auction.
We attend the 10:00am Mass on the Third Sunday of the
month (except July & August) followed by a meeting & light
breakfast in the School.

Holy Name Society
New members are welcome to help with our community
service work. The Society is a spiritual organization, a
fraternity of the Catholic Church, spreading devotion to

The present Holy Name Society members dedicate themselves to corporal works in helping our Parish Organizations and School, with various fundraising. The Holy
Name meets every second Sunday of each month (after
the 10 a.m. Mass), except for July & August.

struggles with compulsive eating. Meeting every

In order for designated Parish Ministries & Organizations to reserve one of our rooms at St. A’s, we require you to fill out our Parish Calendar & Room Request Form. The form is available in the rectory or can be downloaded from our website. We even have an E-form so
you complete this form without writing. Just e-mail it back to us, or print it out and drop it off. All Requests must be made using our form.
E-mail completed form to AnnaMarie Scuteri at [email protected]. This is the ONLY way to reserve a room here at St. A's.
The group listed on the parish calendar is the group that has the right to use that space. If you are not a designated ministry of
our parish, permission must be granted from our Pastor, Msgr. Cassato, a rental fee is paid, and a lease agreement completed in
Sunday Bulletin Deadlines The Sunday Bulletin must be e-mailed to our printer by 10a.m. Monday. All announcements must be submitted in WRITTEN form only (handwritten, typed, computer, fax, e-mailed, etc) by 3p.m. Friday. Announcements received after the
deadline will be published the following week. No one on the parish staff will assume the responsibility for your ministry’s articles. Include
your bulletin articles in your advance planning for your event. All Flyers need to be approved by a staff member and submitted by Email
only to [email protected].
