follow the trails of Hangul Gaongil, the heart of Hangul.
Heading north on Saemunan-ro 3-gil, a building is to appear.
And the name of the building is appropriately named 'Yongbieo
-cheonga' to suit for its location sitting at the Hangul Street.
Although it has now turned into a multi-purpose building, it still is
a historic site where Sir Ju Si-gyeong once lived.
Sir Ju had a nickname, 'Ju Botari (meaning traditional bag).' It
was because he always carried a bag filled with books to teach
Hangul to everyone. He always walked fast in order to teach as
many students as possible.
As his financial situation was always strapped, a benefactor
provided him a place to stay. And the place he stayed evolved
to assume the role of Hangul Development Research Institute.
Ju devoted his entire life to studying and teaching Hangul; and
most of all, he was the one who gave Hangul a name, 'Hangul.'
Even as of today, 'Ju Si-gyeong Streetlight (Hangul Sculpture in
front of Daewoo Building)' appropriately shines utterly bright as if
it commemorates his remarkable and exceptional accomplishments.

Seven-Branched Sword Filled with Aspiration of Baekje on Every Branch
Story
Ancient kingdom flourished in Seoul. Have you heard of the
story about Hanseong Backje? Pungnaptoseong and Mongchon
-toseong were the King's Palace of Baekje which once flourished
into an ancient kingdom of Korea. And in the middle of these two
locations, a symbol of Seven-Branched Sword is installed.
Seven-Branched Sword, a mythical sword which Baekje handed
down to Japan in the 4th century, is now a cultural asset of
Japan designated as national treasure. At the time of ancient
kingdoms, handing down a sword signified an acknowledgement
of the seigniory over the region. Seven-Branched Sword was not
only an Imperial gift which Baekje granted Japanese ruler but
also a sign of friendship securing the controlling right of Japan.
Seven-Branched Sword was also a superb blade which
symbolized the ideology of dendrolatry and Taoism in ancient
times; and most of all, it represents the pinnacle of Baekje's
ironware culture. The branch shape of Seven-Branched Sword
reflects a firm belief that it had mysterious power on its godly
tree powerful enough to chase away all types of diseases. With
3 branches on each side in addition to its main body, it was
deemed to have 7 branches, and it was where the name,
'Seven-Branched Sword' came from. This number 'seven (chil)'
was originated from 'Chil-wonsunggun,' who oversaw birth, aging,
disease and death of all humans, which carries Taoism sorcery and pray.
