Extreme Group Mountain Biking Mountain biking for 4-6 people including a 2 day Dolomites tour Ref. SGM14 Detailed Itinerary Arrival We’ll greet you at your accommodation and offer assistance with getting settled into the place. We’ll also make sure you have everything you need to get prepared for your days of riding ahead. Acclimatisation Ride (optional longer variant available) A shorter ride that can be extended into a long valley tour. You’ll head up into the heart of Val San Nicoló on easy going trails offering the chance to make sure all is ok with the bikes and you are ready for the longer tours through the week. Bike Park Day We’ll help you choose the bike park that is right for your group or you can have a half day at each one. Bike Park Buffaure has natural lines and is a blast on a long travel trail bike. Bike Park Belvedere has two sections: the upper trails are built and offer very flowing lines and jumps, the lower ones are more natural and a more serious challenge. SellaRonda Tour - 65km gaining 550m and descending 3980m A fully guided all day tour including lifts following the route of the famous SellaRonda Hero mountain bike marathon race. With the aid of the lift system you do a circular tour of the Sella Massif over the 4 passes of Passo Sella, Passo Gardena, Passo Campolongo and Passo Pordoi. Enjoy the ride along the ridge at Pralongia, riding through Cittá die Sassi (city of rocks) as well as the stunning descent from Passo Pordoi and Passo Gardena. Two Day Tour Part 1 Ride along the Avisio river up to Campitello where you’ll take the cable car high up to Col Rodella where you start an anticlockwise tour of the Sasso Lungo and Sasso Piatto mountain range riding some fun single trail and some challenging climbs before reaching your overnight destination at Rifugio Zallinger. Two Day Tour Part 2 (shorter more technical ride option available) Start off descending from Rifugio Zallinger as you start an anticlockwise tour this time of Alpi Suisi. A less technical tour but very scenic as you ride around the highest pasture lands in Europe. Finish off the ride climbing up to Passo Duron where you’ll descend Val Duron on technical and challenging singletrack. Two Day Tour Part 2 - Option 2 Heading up from Rifugio Zallinger towards Rifugio Sasso Piatto from where you’ll ride the stunning ridge line along to Passo Duron. From Passo Duron you stay high and cross over to the top of Val di Dona where you may have to push the bike a short way to finish the ascent. From the top of the valley you descend Val di Dona on a very technical and loose trail before joining the forestry road which leads down. Keeping your eye out for the forestry signs, there’s a path to the left a way down where you enter into the forest on singletrack. Traverse back across to Val Duron with some stunning downhills, then there’s then a real treat through the woods once you reach Val Duron. Skill, Fitness and Bike Choice Getting Here Skill and trail conditions Self drive (From the UK) Trails are on natural paths and include rocky and rooty sections as well as off camber lines. Previous riding experience on natural trails and confidence in riding red graded trail center trails are recommended. Fitness Routes of up to 65km with up to 1000m of climbing mean a good level of fitness is essential to enjoy the tours to the fullest. Some pre-training may help to compensate for the effect of being at high altitude, which may leave you feeling more fatigued on the first few days. You may have to be prepared to carry/push the bike for short sections too. Bike and equipment A medium to long travel 140-160mm trail/enduro bike are best suited to the steep and rocky terrain, hydration pack and trail side repair kit are essential for longer days in the saddle and we highly recommend keeping the granny ring or a super wide ratio cassette. *Full face helmet and pads are required for bike park access. www.fassadventures.com [email protected] Tel: +44 121 288 2188 Tel: +39 393 2241516 Often a more cost effective way for a group to travel is to hire a minibus and make the trip by road. We can give full route details and suggest places to take a break or stop over on route. The drive from Calais is around 12 hours (not including stops). Flying Flying into Venice or Treviso, we can arrange transfers including bikes however this often requires a stay over in Venice on your first night as coaches leave very early. *First time flying with a bike ask us for advice in packing your bike safely. Accommodation 6 nights stay in a self catering apartment and 1 night stay in a mountain hut with evening meal and breakfast. Upgrade - Hotel or B&B accommodation available on request.
