Have you ever watched an incredibly crazy stunt in a movie, television show, or
live event and wondered just how they did that? Whose job is it to create and
build the incredible contraptions that make the seemingly impossible, possible?
In this one hour episodic docu-series “Stuntman’s Garage” we will follow the
Branam Family, whose business it is to merge the unique and creative worlds of
stunts and rigging. From building the set of “Wipeout” and the scary challenges
on “Fear Factor” to making the riggings and special stunts for Avatar and Pirates
of the Caribbean, chances are that Branam Enterprises had a hand in producing
a jaw dropping moment.
For over 40 years Joe Branam has been synonymous with the world of stunt
rigging. In his 35,000 square foot Los Angeles warehouse, Joe oversees his 20
employees, including his son Joey, daughters Kelly and Kristi, and Kristi’s
husband Tony. It is a family business and each one of them has their own job to
do, from running the front office to conceptualizing, executing, and testing the
stunt rigs. The family and employees of this unique company keep everything on
track and going on schedule no matter what the task. No job is too big for this
group of determined characters whose reputation is to build it bigger and better
than anyone else.
We will see how the family works hand in hand with some of the biggest
Hollywood Producers, Stuntmen, and Stunt Action fabricators to create
spectacular movie and TV stunts and amazing effects for concerts and live
shows. When the call comes in, the family goes to work. Each episode could take
us anywhere in the world and the challenge is always new and unique. Witness
this amazing process from the blueprint to the actual build, delivery, set up and
operation of the rigs for all kinds of action packed projects that have been
ordered by studios and concert promoters of the biggest Movies, TV shows, and
live events.
