Mondrian is a hand-knotted wool carpet woven by Tibetan weavers using wool from the Tibetan Highland Sheep and inspired by the work and
designs of the Dutch artist, Piet Mondrian. The design combines his early attempts to use simple subjects of nature such as a flower and combine
this into the style of the modern cubist. In doing this,we have designed a rug that is both functional in a Mission setting and perfectly at home shown
with modern, contemporary art and furniture.

Bungalow Garden is a hand-knotted wool Tibetan carpet. This distinct Arts and Crafts design finds its inspiration in the intricate wallpapers
designed by William Morris and the detailed inlay work of Harvey Ellis. The Craftsman Bungalow home featured a large porch that was intended to
extend the home into the gardens that surrounded the dwelling. This design is a perfect complement to the Arts and Crafts interior in its ability to
bring about this fluid transition between the home and the outdoors.

Babson House is a hand-knotted wool Tibetan carpet.Louis Sullivan, the noted Architect and mentor to Frank Lloyd Wright, designed a house built
in 1907 in Riverside, Illinois for Henry Babson. Sullivan commissioned a carpet to be woven for use in the foyer to Babson House, which reflected
his belief of using stylized botanical patterns as ornamentation. The Babson House rug is a shining example of Prairie style. The border design is
from the ancient symbol used for thunder and is sometimes called a thunder key. Woven by Tibetan weavers using wool from the Tibetan
Highland Sheep, this carpet is a solid choice for all prairie-style homes.

Glasgow is a hand-knotted wool Tibetan carpet. The inspiration for this design is found in the region of the Scottish village of Glasgow and
in the work and architecture of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Mackintosh strived to assemble a perfectly balanced composition from simple
forms, blending Art Nouveau and Japanese art. The Glasgow carpet is a perfect example of this balance of form and color. Woven by Tibetan
weavers using wool from the Tibetan Highland Sheep, this carpet is a perfect complement to the 21st Century and Edinburgh Collections.

Paradise Valley is a hand-knotted wool Tibetan carpet. Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West in Scottsdale,Arizona was the winter home and school
established by Wright in 1937. This design was inspired by Wright’s use of clear glass and geometric shapes to create screens between indoor
and outdoor environments. The rich brown, gold and rust colors of Paradise Valley complement our Mission and 21st Century furniture. Woven
by Tibetan weavers using wool from the Tibetan Highland Sheep, this carpet is especially good when shown with Craftsman Leather.

This hand-knotted wool Tibetan carpet is designed for use in a modern contemporary setting. Soho is named for the Manhattan neighborhood
that rose to fame as a neighborhood for artists during the 1960s and 1970s, when the cheap spaces vacated by departing factories were converted
by artists into lofts and studios. Elegantly simple, yet sophisticated, rectilinear and modern, Soho blends the warm natural colors of handspun wool
from the Tibetan Highland Sheep, into a carpet that will last many lifetimes to be enjoyed by generations to come.

middle America's prairie heritage. The elegant stained glass panels were considered by Wright to be abstracts of nature, allowing light to enter,

design is the perfect complement to today’s craftsman interior.

The Donegal is a hand-knotted wool Tibetan carpet. It all began in 1898, when Alexander Morton & Company of London began producing
hand-woven carpets in Donegal, Ireland. Gustav Stickley owned several Donegal carpets, and in the December 1906 issue of “The Craftsman”,
Stickley states: “For those wanting the very best in rugs and carpets, there is an end to the quest in the rich, artistic and everlasting Donegal
Rugs... in depth and closeness of pile, richness of coloring, and grace of design, nothing can excel these Donegal products.” Originally displayed
at Grafton Gallery in London during a Liberty’s exhibition in 1903, this carpet design artfully depicts the boughs of a giant hemlock. Woven by
Tibetan weavers using handspun wool from the Tibetan highland sheep, this carpet is as popular today as it was during Gustav’s era.

Wild Rose is a hand-knotted wool Tibetan carpet. Inspired by the works of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the Scottish architect/designer/artist
who gained international notice in the early 20th century for his unlikely union of forms that bridged the worlds of Art Nouveau and
Modernism. His work, which included private residences, public buildings, furnishings, and interiors, was often characterized by the blending
together of square patterns with long sweeping arches and fanciful curves. He created both order and complexity through the richness of this
motif, often setting up relationships among the squares in a piece while highlighting the sensuous lines and spaces in between.

Quaint is a hand-knotted wool Tibetan carpet.“To live content with small means. To seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than
fashion. To be worthy not respectable, and wealthy not rich. To listen to stars and birds and babes and sages with an open heart. To study hard, think
quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions. Never hurry. In a word, to let the spiritual, the unbidden and the unconscious rise up through the
common. This is my symphony.”—William Henry Channing, 1898. The words of this eloquent clergyman capture completely the spirit of this rug
and of the Stickley Brother’s Arts & Crafts line known as Quaint Mission.

were an inspiration to William Morris and other noted Arts and Crafts leaders in their design of textiles and wallpapers. This design is from a

Designer Rugs
The creation of a Stickley Designer rug begins with the finest natural fiber known to man, wool. Wool fibers are covered with layers
arranged much like shingles on a roof. This layering keeps dirt from penetrating the outer cover of the fiber helping prevent soiling
and staining. Spot cleaning wool can be done easily before a stain is set and regular vacuuming is all that is required for routine daily
care. Wool resists soiling, cleans easily, is thousands of times more flexible and durable than synthetic fibers, does not burn, and
insulates and absorbs sound. Rugs made of wool last for hundreds of years through continuous use and remain beautiful examples
of combined art, durability, and creativity.
The art of rug weaving spans more than twenty centuries and is as rich and colorful as these magnificent rugs themselves. The
earliest rugs were woven by nomadic tribal peoples as utilitarian ground covers. The Tibetan Dali Lama’s horse had its very special
hand-knotted silk saddle blankets and Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan erected carpet factories in the shadows of the Taj Mahal.
Rugs usually provide a lifetime of utility, joy, and satisfaction to their owners. They become family heirlooms that are passed down for
generations to enjoy. These valued possessions are always in style and enhance beautiful hardwood floors. When rugs are properly cared
for, they seldom loose their value thus allowing them to be resold or traded in toward a new rug.
Since 1900, Stickley has been a family owned and operated business. With our vast knowledge of interior design, our understanding
of furniture’s form and function, and appreciation of fine oriental rugs, we carefully select the best designs and colors to complement
today’s interiors.
Stickley buys directly from the finest weavers in each producing country. We carefully select the best designs and colors to create
works of art. Our Arts and Crafts rugs are unique and complement Stickley Furniture. These Stickley Designer Rugs are sold in stores
that are respectable and credible and share Stickley’s belief that “reputation is precious but character is priceless”. Stickley stands
behind and warranties all rugs for the life of the original owner. We honor the integrity of the carpet by honoring this warranty.

GENERAL CARE AND CLEANING
Your Oriental rug is a preeminent example of combined art, durability, and creativity and deserves the same care and attention you
would accord to a fine piece of furniture. Your efforts will be rewarded time and time again through years of lasting satisfaction
with the unique beauty of your oriental carpet.
1. Vacuum regularly; at least once a week. Regular vacuuming will help remove destructive grit that is tracked on the surface and
sifts through the wool fibers to the foundation of the rug. Occasionally, you should vacuum the back of the rug to draw out the very
short, light absorbing bits of yarn that can otherwise dull the luster of the carpet.
2. Wet clean as required; generally not more than once every two years, preferably by a professional carpet cleaner. Professional
cleaning will remove the grit and dirt that becomes deeply embedded as well as the surface soiling that dulls the appearance of the
carpet. Cleaning should be done only by a professional cleaning service that specializes in oriental rugs, and not by a broadloom
cleaner unfamiliar with the hand-woven product.
3. Cope with stains immediately. Whenever possible, clean a spill immediately before it has a chance to set. First, scrape up any
solid dirt or blot up excess liquid with a paper or cloth towel. Depending on the type of spill, a simple variety of household
solutions may be used. Specific stain treatments, as supplied by The Wool Bureau, are as follows:
Alcoholic Beverages
Blood
Chewing Gum
Chocolate
Coffee
Cola / Soft Drink
Fruit Juices
Furniture Polish
Gravy / Sauces
Mildew
Mud
Rust
