Flop Shops SMU. - Flip Flop Shops
Hurley and Flip Flop Shops announced a key sales partnership today at the first annual Flip Flop Shops Owner’s Summit in Orlando, Florida. Flip Flop Shops will be one of a select group of retailers carrying Hurley’s new Phantom Sandals when they launch next spring, including an exclusive Flip Flop Shops SMU. The sandals are a revolutionary incorporation of Nike’s Free Technology, which has taken the running world by storm with its deep sliced souls and flex pattern, with Hurley’s Phantom ideal of “lighter, faster, more flexible.” “We combined Nike Free Technology with Phantom to create one of the most innovative sandals in the marketplace,” explains Bruce Moore, Hurley’s head of innovation. Hurley is expanding its Phantom range into a variety of new categories including the recently launched Phantom Protect outerwear. “Phantom is an innovation platform for Hurley,” says Creative Director Ryan Hurley. “When you add Nike Free and its natural motion, the Phantom Sandal is as close to being barefoot as you can be.” Hurley Founder Bob Hurley says the line will be rolled out “with extremely limited distribution and Flip Flop Shops is one of the first partners because they do such a good job in the space.” Flip Flop Shops Co-founder and President Brian Curin says he’s very excited to be working with Hurley on footwear again as the brand re-introduces the category. “Hurley was one of our best partners before,” says Curin, adding that the line will retail for between $60-65. “When Bob called and said he wanted to launch with us, we were all over it. And then we saw the product. It’s so innovative—we really feel it’s going to revolutionize the market.” Flip Flop Shops Phantom Sandal SMU The announcement was made today, September 5, at the first annual Flip Flop Shops Owner’s Summit, which brought together over 150 franchisees from the chain’s 170 doors, from across the Americas. Curin says the summit will be crucial for helping create a common story across the diverse group of Flip Flop Shops owners. “There’s nothing more important than relationships with our core brands,” says Curin of the two day event which featured presentations from Cushe, Sanuk, OluKai, Quiksilver/Roxy, Reef, and Cobian. “Getting the owners and brands together to share stories— nothing can come close to the education we all get from that. We want the owners to be experts on the product and able to tell the brands’ stories, and this is huge for that.” http://business.transworld.net/110424/features/flip-flop-shop-founders-and-bob-hurley-discuss-new-partnership/ Inside Flip Flop Shops First Annual Owner’s Summit: Follow the jump for a look at Flip Flop Shops growth From Curin’s State of the Business presentation:
