June 23 kicks off the award winning six day festival in
downtown Geneva. Excellent entertainment covering all genres, captivating carnival, phenomenal food
and spectacular shopping are all part of 2015 Swedish Days supported by Northwestern Medicine. Craft Brew@402 expands to a new
location north of State and the circus comes to Geneva. You won’t want to miss a
minute of the excitement!

Geneva Arts Fair has become the fine arts fair to be part of. Over
155 respected and admired artists from around the country will
be showcased in a variety of media on Third Street. Over 20,000
come to Geneva in just those two days! This prestigious show

Thursdays in July & August
Whether you enjoy a “Little Deuce Coupe”, “Pink Cadillac” or “Little Red Corvette”, the Geneva Chamber car
shows on Thursday nights in July and August will be
a gas. It is an organized, but casual opportunity for
collectors to gather together and showcase their cars
and motorcycles. Stroll the grounds of the historic Kane County Courthouse and
enjoy downtown Geneva on a summer evening. Bring your family for something to
eat, listen to great music and enjoy the wonderful community event. Just one more

Building Better Relationships Through Networking
April Luncheon
Thank you to Riverside Receptions for providing a
festive Mexican buffet to accompany our April Trade
Show. 32 businesses were showcased and provided
for a great networking experience. A check was presented to our March/April “Chance for Charity”, the
Geneva Community Chest, and the donation will be
put to good use in our community.
May Luncheon
A delicious meal was served at our May luncheon at
Mill Creek Golf Club. Geneva History Museum Educator, Heidi Howlett, told amazing stories of strong
and progressive Geneva women who set the bar high
for today’s women in business.
June Luncheon
The June luncheon will be held at The Patten House
of Geneva, 124 S. Second Street. Fun networking
activities are planned. If you haven’t tried The Patten
House yet, this would be a great opportunity to do
so while networking with other women in business.
Our “Chance for Charity” recipient for May/June is
the Geneva History Museum.

The July luncheon will be at Hotel Baker, 100 W.
Main Street, in St. Charles. Geneva resident and
founder and managing director of do-over.me, Cynthia Wade, will offer ideas for marketing your personal and/or professional brand. Learn her tips and
tricks that promote growth! Our “Chance for Charity” will be LivingWell Cancer
Resource Center, part of Northwestern Medicine.
LivingWell serves as a vital component to comprehensive cancer care and stands as a gathering place
that provides comfort and community to anyone experiencing the effects of cancer. Their hope is that
program participants will feel less alone, better informed, more hopeful, and empowered to take on
the challenge of facing cancer by participating in
programs and services offered by LivingWell.

Two Men And A Truck Kane/DuPage is proud to announce the promotion of Tanya
Thomas to Office Manager of their McHenry location.
Hats off to Windy City Amusements, Inc. for giving back at the Cabin Fever Fest
in April. Geneva elementary schools Williamsburg, Fabyan, Western Avenue, Mill
Creek and Harrison Street all took advantage of their generous offer. Each school
received flyers to hand out and put their schools name on. Windy City gave a portion of redeemed flyers/tickets bought to the participating school. What a fantastic

Jennifer Piazza
We welcome Jennifer Piazza, Assistant General Manager of The Herrington Inn & Spa,
as the newest appointee to our Chamber
Board.
Jennifer has an extensive hospitality background and in 2001 joined the management
team at The Herrington Inn & Spa, being promoted to her current position last year.
Just last year, 25,000 guests stayed overnight
at The Herrington, and Jennifer was fortunate to meet many of them. The guests are
seeking recommendations on local business
for shopping, dining, salon services and sundries. Speaking to visitors that may be here
for a leisure getaway or because they are doing business in the area, Jennifer feels, gives
her a unique perspective she can bring to the
board.
In her free time, she enjoys practicing hot
yoga, cooking, travel and is passionate about
her book club.

World Spirits Competition held on March 20-21. This is the largest, most influential
international spirits competition in America and is judged by a prestigious panel of
39 nationally recognized spirits experts. The judging is based on a blind, consensual
procedure, ensuring competitive integrity as it remains the nation’s most respected
spirits competition.
Wasco Nursery & Garden Center joined the ranks of the horticulture industry’s top
local garden centers when it was named one of Today’s Garden Center magazine’s
Revolutionary 100 Garden Centers for 2015. The Revolutionary 100 program surveys garden center owners and managers on how they run their businesses.
The Kane County Cougars received a worldwide boost in promoting their upcoming

Crystal Life Technology will have an official rededication to commemorate 20 years

Stockholm’s helped Max Washington to raise
nearly $6,000 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. The monies will be used to fund research to
combat cancer in kids. The fundraising culminated with the shaving of Stockholm’s owner Michael
