This leaflet explains how to use
SBHA HomeChoice to apply for
an SBHA home.
How to Register with SBHA

Complete an Application Form • Online by logging onto www.sbhahomechoice.org.uk
or
• By contacting any SBHA office
- see back page for details.
Who can apply for an SBHA
property?
You must be 16 years of age to
apply for your own home. If you
or a member of your household
is over 60 years of age, then you
can apply for Amenity Housing.
When you register with SBHA
HomeChoice you will be provided
with an application reference
number.
Please keep this number safe as
you will need it to bid.
Where to look for a property
SBHA HomeChoice properties are
advertised in all SBHA Offices,
SBHA’s website from Monday at
noon, and in the Southern Reporter
every Thursday.
Making a bid for the
property of your choice
You can bid for properties at any time
of day up to the advertised closing
time, either on line at
www.sbhahomechoice.org.uk; or
by telephoning 0845 873 6464
and using the automated telephone
bidding service.
Bids received by both these routes
are instantly recorded.
I need help - what support is
available?
The SBHA HomeChoice process
depends on you placing a bid.
However, we appreciate some
applicants may have difficulty in
doing this. Please contact SBHA if
you need assistance, although staff
cannot place bids for you.
Am I being considered for a
property?
We
will
identify
successful
Applicants each Monday when
the advert closes. The Applicants
being considered for the properties
will normally be contacted the
same day by telephone, text or
e-mail, so it is important that
you ensure SBHA has up-to-date
contact details.
Where can I see how properties
are let?
SBHA HomeChoice will publish feedback reports on its website every
month. This will give a summary of
properties advertised, how many bids
were received and the range of points
required to be the successful bidder.
