Fashion & Flowers
Margie opened the doors Fashion & Flowers back in
1970. She has poured her life into this place . . . one way or
another. She was the first to have a complete Bridal, Floral
and Tuxedo service in Central Florida. The building started
out as a three bedroom house and was renovated into what
it is today . . . HUGE!
There were hard time! Margie went 8 years without
a paycheck but luckily her husband worked for NASA at the
cape. They owned 2 homes at the time, one in Titusville and
one in Orlando. In 1996 they retired for 12 years.
Last year they came out of retirement and bought
the florist back. Margie and her husband live in Titusville and
drive into East Orlando to work these days. They are seeing
many of there old customers. When I first met Margie last
year, she said it would take about a year to get it back on
their feet.
They stay busy with weddings every weekend.
She has a staff of 5 and has cross trained them to do many
things. She taught her seamstress to do flower designs!
They can all deliver when necessary. Her husband works
right along side them as well. It has been a joy serving Margie and Sharon with there floral needs over this past year
and I look forward to many more years of the same.

"Cheddar-Pecan Green Bean Casserole"
Cozy Holiday Casseroles for Christmas
INGREDIENTS
• Buttermilk White Sauce
• 1 cup finely chopped jarred roasted red bell peppers
• 1 cup (4 oz.) freshly shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, divided
• Simple Blanched Green Beans
PREP TIME: 10 min.
• 1 cup French fried onions, crushed
BAKE TIME: 30 min.
• 1/2 cup Japanese breadcrumbs (panko)
YIELD: Makes 6 to 8 servings
• 1/2 cup chopped pecans
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350°. Combine Buttermilk White Sauce, peppers, and 1/2 cup cheese in a large bowl;
add green beans, tossing gently to combine. Place in a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch or 3-qt. baking dish.
2. Combine French fried onions, Japanese breadcrumbs, chopped pecans, and remaining 1/2 cup
cheese, and sprinkle over green bean mixture.
3. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Serve immediately.
Simple Pecan-Green Bean Casserole: Omit shredded sharp Cheddar cheese. Preheat oven to 350°. Place French fried onions, Japanese breadcrumbs,
and chopped pecans in an even layer in a 15- x 10-inch jelly-roll pan. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until toasted, stirring after 5 minutes. Prepare Buttermilk White
Sauce and Simple Blanched Green Beans as directed. (Do not plunge beans into ice water.) Gently toss together green beans and roasted red bell peppers,
and spoon onto a serving platter. Top with Buttermilk White Sauce, and sprinkle with toasted pecan mixture.

CFFA November Meeting
The meeting was held at Carlstadt’s and sponsored by Teleflora. The show was named “Natural
and Luminous Holiday Designs”. Unfortunately, I did not attend the meeting this time but was told it was fun!
Brita was kind enough to bring by the pictures she took. There were some beautiful designs for the holidays!
Some were very unique in design and style.
I look forward to the Christmas Party coming up on December 5th. The Peabody is a gorgeous place
and I can’t wait to be there. The party sounds like a lot of fun for us all. If you haven’t RSVP yet it’s not too late. We would love
to see you there and spend the evening with you. I hope everybody has a wonderful Thanksgiving and are thankful for much in
their lives! We are a blessed country even though we are in the mist of many challenges. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and
