About Treasures of
New York
Treasures of New York is a documentary
series exploring New York City's
premier cultural establishments, from
Lincoln Center, to the Park Avenue
Armory, and beyond.
On January 14th, 2015, NYC Landmarks50 installed an 80-foot
billboard to honor the 50th anniversary of the New York City
Landmarks Law. Signed by Mayor Robert F. Wagner in 1965, the
Landmarks Law was established to protect New York City’s
aesthetic and historically significant sites. In the 50 years since the

law was passed, over 31,000 properties have been designated,
including 130 historic districts, 117 interior landmarks and 10 scenic
landmarks in all five city boroughs.
Treasures of New York: The Landmarks Preservation Movement airs
Tuesday, February 3 WLIW at 7 p.m., and Saturday, February 7 at 9 a.m. on
WLIW.

lipwak — Wow, you are? Not on DirecTV as of the PBS
kitty — I love that i can watch Father Brown on my PC,
News Hour on 6/2. For the past two weeks the aspect
ratio has been wrong, content goes off both sides of the
tv. And playback is not smooth. Tonight it stuttered and
but ep. 9, Grim Reaper, is repeated for ep. 10, Laws of
Motion. I'm sure it's just a tech issue that's easy to
resolve. I hope they do it soon:)
