POLICY ISSUE
Should the Village Board approve the contract award for the Meacham’s Crest and Stone Ridge
Utility and Roadway Construction Projects?
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Construction generally includes the installation of 5,600’ of sanitary sewer and 2,775’ watermain,
2,920’ of storm sewer, 3,700’ of urban roadway, and a regional storm water management pond.
This project is the road and utility extensions for the Plats of Meacham’s Crest and Stone Ridge.
The Plats include creation of 66 single family residential lots, along with rights of way and
easements for public improvements. The project also includes the creation of an outlet being
dedicated to the Village for storm water management purposes.
Roadways will include on-street parking, bike, and pedestrian facilities.
Village Staff has requested bids, which will be received at 1:00 pm on May 23, and are therefore not
available for the writing of this report. Staff will open the bids, verify the low bidders, and provide
an updated report, bid tab, and recommendation prior to the meeting at 6:30 pm.
If awarded, construction will begin in June and is scheduled to be completed by November 1.
PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW
• February, 8 2016 - The Village Board approved the Final PDD for Scott Sonnabend (Stone
Ridge Condo).
• March 28, 2016 - The Village Board approved the Final Plat of Meacham’s Crest
• May 9, 2016 - The Village Board preliminary resolution for special assessments on
Frederick Court and the Plats of Meacham’s Crest and Stone Ridge

e) Village staff recommends that the Village Board award the utility construction project
contingent on Attorney review of the contracts.
If the Village Board were in favor of this policy action, the following motion may be made:
“Motion to award the Meacham’s Crest & Stone Ridge Utility Construction
Project to _________________ for _$_______________, contingent on Attorney review of the
contracts.”
f) Village staff recommends that the Village Board award the roadway construction project
contingent on Attorney review of the contracts.
If the Village Board were in favor of this policy action, the following motion may be made:
