Scottish Rite Masonic Center on Center Ave. from 8-11 pm on
Sat., May 7, 2016.
Keep the party going with Post Prom being held at Central High
School this year saving the cost of a rental fee so that those
funds can be used to give away more prizes to our students.
Post Prom begins at 11:15 pm, May 7th and ends at
3:00 am, May 8th. Students not only receive prizes
but will enjoy magical entertainment, fun
games and delicious food.

Parents ~ we need some help to make this event
happen and to flow smoothly.
Please, if you can help call Tina Demo at 989-891-0605 or
email Ginger Herzog at [email protected] by next
Monday, May 2nd so that we can plan accordingly. If you
haven’t completed the district’s volunteer application please
complete and return one to the school office before the event.
There is one attached with this newsletter.
Help is needed to run games and various activities during the
event. Coffee will be provided for the parents.
Bay City Central’s 21st Century
Community Learning Center is

readiness, cooking, science,
teamwork and much more!
15th
We will begin on Wed., June
and end on Thurs., July 28th. We
run 9am-12pm every Monday thru

Project Unify is an education-based project supported by the U.S. Department of Education that uses
the sports and education programs of Special Olympics to promote school communities that foster
respect, dignity and advocacy for people with intellectual disabilities.
Individuals with and without disabilities participate in sports and other activities in an attempt to
change perceptions, improve attitudes and increase acceptance of all students. Sporting activities that
Central High School typically participates in are soccer, bowling, bocce ball, and basketball. Students
also work together to fundraise.
We work hard to create a school climate where all students are accepted.
Project Unify is holding a Trivia Night fundraiser on Fri., May 13, 2016. Don’t be afraid, come and
have a great time!!
Knights of Columbus on Linn Street at 7 pm

April 22 Bay City Central students visited Saginaw Valley
State University for the science symposium. Stacy Lang,
College Advisor and Mark Skiles, Engineering teacher took
20 students to learn about engineering and science careers.
We saw many interesting STEM projects, like the cardinal
race car and senior project presentations from most
disciplines on campus.
Michigan Education Trust (MET) Offers Pay-As-You-Go Plan
MET contracts offer the new pay-as-you-go option!
This option allows purchasers to buy contracts by credit hours rather than in semester increments.
This is a good option even if you intend to purchase one or more semesters in a lump sum, as it
leaves the contract open to future contributions as opposed to a regular lump sum purchase that is
closed and cannot be added to in the future. Once a contract has been purchased, friends and family
can also make contributions to the contract.
Please review the Pay-As-You-Go FAQ's for additional information.
