HOURS & ADMISSION Explore the Arboretum The Arboretum is a place for all seasons: the brilliant blossoms of spring, lush summer blooms and greenery, awesome autumn colors and serene winter snowscapes. Enjoy quiet reflection or vigorous recreation on Three-Mile Drive, 12 miles of hiking trails, 9 miles of crosscountry ski trails and 3.5 miles of snowshoe trails. Open 363 days a year (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas) Begin at the Oswald Visitor Center. Find out what’s in bloom at the touch-screen kiosks, then pick up exhibition guides, garden brochures and more. GROUNDS 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. or sunset (whichever occurs first) There are so many choices - stunning gardens, comprehensive plant collections, innovative environmental models - all amid a peaceful landscape of natural woodland, wetland and prairie. Admission: $12 ages 13 to adult. Children 12 and under free. Members free year round. BUILDINGS April-October Monday - Saturday 8 a.m.* – 6 p.m. Sunday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Use this listing of popular Arboretum highlights to plan your visit. More features on the map. November - March Monday - Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Display gardens that showcase specialty plants (e.g. roses, peonies, vegetables, annuals, herbs), model landscapes on the home scale, even a green maze. *Visitor Center doors open at 7:30 a.m. for rental groups. Open to public at 8 a.m. KEEP THE GARDENS BEAUTiFUL Be Kind Be Respectful •Stay on walkways, nature trails and grass Footsteps elsewhere crush plants and damage soil • Do not pick or collect materials from flowers, plants or trees. Leave everything here for others to enjoy. Be Safe • Children must be accompanied by an adult • Teachers and chaperones must stay with their group at all times • Bicyclists allowed on Three-Mile Drive; no scooters, skateboards or in-line skates • No pets except dogs assisting people with disabilities • Respect others in your group and other visitors • No vehicle parking on the grass Photos and video for personal use are welcome • No climbing on trees, walls, rocks, statues or exhibits Signs on play structures and certain exhibits note where climbing is invited • No wading in fountains, ponds or streams See map on back.
